Some TV dude aid that during an eclipse the dangerous rays (or whatever) are 10,000 times stronger, or more dangerous, than normal. Sounds like an exaggeration to me but what do I know?

The problem is that it is very bright, but only a pinpoint. It doesn’t “hurt” to look at it but it’s destroying your eyes.
Normally you don’t have to tell people not to look because it’s a very hard thing to do. It’s easy to do with an eclipse.
