I remember seeing a total Solar eclipse in my hometown in Germany in 1950 when I was 9 years old. My parents took us outside in our yard. Of course my dad warned us not to look at it until it was safe to do. I do remember when the sky got totally dark in the middle of the day and the stars were visible.

Clarksville, TN is one of the places where the eclipse is visible.
