Source: McMaster Fails to Brief Trump Before ‘That’s Too Bad’ Error

A source with direct knowledge of these matters tells Breitbart News that the senior staff at the White House, including National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, did not brief President Donald Trump on the collision the Navy destroyer USS John McCain had with an oil tanker near Singapore before he originally seemingly dismissed the incident saying, “that’s too bad.” Trump later, after receiving more information on it, tweeted that he hopes for the best for the lost sailors. The collision left 10 sailors missing and another five injured.

“That’s too bad,” Trump said when responding to shouted press questions about the collision of the USS John McCain with an oil tanker, per a White House pool report earlier in the evening.

Many took the comment to be disrespectful and something that critics would not let previous presidents get away with.

‘Perhaps you should do more research on McMaster, and why he’s a problem for this Admin....’

Missing the point. The point being, this kind of sniping will not bring about McMaster’s ouster. At best, it will feed the Democrat narrative that Trump’s WH is in chaos and under fire from all sides.

Unhelpful at best—unless one is a stealthy Never-Trumper who delights in advancing the MSM narrative.

There are more than enough red flags in McMaster's background to warrant removing him. Here's a thought - how about replacing Obama holdovers with REAL conservatives whose motives aren't questionable? There aren't many in the WH that I can identify, but I'm sure there are many conservatives that would love to serve in this WH and help the President succeed. I wouldn't bet good money on that being the case for much of the current crop, other than Miller and Gorka.

“A source with direct knowledge”

yet ANOTHER garbage post on FR!

FR is turning into a garbage pit, helping to spread the lies of the Democrat-Enemedia Complex.

Please reread my comment. The point is, the type of sniping Bannon is (evidently) engaged in will not result in McMaster’s ouster. If that is Bannon’s actual goal, he needs to change tactics ASAP.

You’re welcome. Pretty much ‘buried in stone.’

There is criteria for what is reported with what speed up the chain of command. However with today’s ‘breaking news’ and etc, first word sometimes comes before the facts behind the ‘first word’ are known. Thus the President’s comment of a week ago over Charlottesville of ‘waiting until facts are known’ is, in my view, always to be considered. Or an old saying “think twice before speaking once.”

“Breibart has become like a gossip magazine.”

So you’re saying they are mainstream media now?

McMaster has become what he do damningly wrote about in his book on military leadership in Vietnam.
