That’s where it’s going, eventually.

So what happens to the marijuana trade in states like Colorado where it’s a strictly “cash and carry” business due to Federal drug and banking laws ?

Maybe a-holes who only had that in their pocket? Maybe even Rats that want to give you a hard time? You missed the point entirely, or so it seems.

Merchant: "Leave my store!"

That is what it is going to come down to. We are going to have to be willing to go elsewhere (where our cash is accepted) or they will herd us into their new, cashless society.

Paying a bonus for not accepting cash does not seem right to me.

Are they breaking a law?

If a business won’t accept my cash, I will leave my purchase on the counter. They can survive on their bonus.

For those of us who live in hurricane land cash is needed. Let’s see.... Florida, Texas, Carolinas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia...that’s a whole of Electoral College votes. Shame if you lost them.

that’s one way to remove our founders from our currency - clever

but until tech is hackproof (which, with supercomputers battling each other over access will be never), going electronic is like swimming with alligators and hoping you don’t get bit

It’s unlawful to refuse federal reserve notes as a discharge instrument for a debt. You can refuse to take them in a transaction all day long.

Society will go cashless because the next generation is willingly eschewing carrying money for the convenience of debit cards, Apple Pay, etc. We told our youngest to always have $20 in his wallet and he was like, “Why?”

One of the right-of-center bloggers had a laugh-till-your-sides-ache adaptation of one of Jack Chick's tracts early in the Obama years, I think it was of the beast. The weird torturer guy was torturing the old man with electrodes and goading him to say something positive about Obama, and the guy retorted, "How's That Hopey Changey Stuff working out for you?"

I've spent over 10 minutes looking but can't find it.

I tell ya, when they gave Obama the Nobel Peace Prize for “future Middle East Peace” that really caught my attention.

Along with dimbulb Henry Kissinger saying he was primed to lead the New World Order. Jeb and Daddy must have loved that one.

Part VI: Apocalypse in 9/8 (Co-Starring the Delicious Talents of Gabble Ratchet) in Supper's Ready, from Foxtrot.

The Gabble Ratchets can be heard just prior to "666 is no longer alone..."

Being at the grocery store behind someone with a card is worse than if they were writing a check. They slide the card in the wrong way. They then slide it in the right way, but are not gifted enough to have it read until the third or forth try. Next they can’t get the pin in correctly. If they use a chip reader, they pull it out too quickly or don’t get it pushed in properly. My wife and I take cash from the bank each week for household expenses.

Can a business refuse to take Federal certificates denominated in US Dollars for a contracted purchase? Read the statement in the left side of the front of the Reserve Note:

THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER
FOR ALL DEBTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE

Just don't say ahead of time that you are tendering cash. Actually, it should be a reason to bargain for a lower price because there will be no charge for processing a debit or credit card processing. Once the sale of goods or services has been agreed, it should be unlawful to refuse Federal Notes to discharge the debt incurred.
