KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Missouri lawmaker who drew bipartisan outrage over her brief Facebook comment expressing hope that President Donald Trump would be assassinated apologized publicly Sunday to Trump and his family, calling the online posting “a mistake.”
But Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, a black Democrat, said she has no plans to resign as numerous top Republicans and Democrats in Missouri have insisted since Thursday’s post in which she wrote “I hope Trump is assassinated!” Gov. Eric Greitens and Lt. Gov. Mike Parson, both Republicans, said Friday that state senators should oust her.
“I made a mistake, and I’m owning up to it. And I’m not ever going to make a mistake like that again. I have learned my lesson. My judge and my jury is my Lord, Jesus Christ,” Chappelle-Nadal, who later deleted from post from her personal Facebook page, told reporters at a church in Ferguson.
She had asked media outlets to not publish the news conference’s location beforehand because she’d received death threats since the post.

Fine. Arrest her. Then she can resign. She does not belong as part of any functioning enterprise and her presence in government is a profanity.
She only apologized because even the Dems were disgusted with her remark...impeach her and remove her!!!
Dems are only upset she blew their cover.

She was forced and didn’t mean a word of her so called apology. She needs to face charges like any of us would.

Sorry, an apology is not enough. She must resign. Other, better people, have resigned from office for much less. If she does not resign, it is further evidence that blacks are held to an entirely different standard from everybody else. And I, for one, am sick of it.

The ‘press’ will be more than happy to accept her apology - she’s a democrat after all.
Now if a Republican office holder had said the same about President Obama he would have been forced to resign... and been called a racist - and it would be implied that ALL Republicans were just like him..
But, she’s a democrat - and the press is corrupt...
Forgiveness by Jesus does not remove the consequences of your actions.
She needs to be removed from office and jailed.
As a society, we cannot allow such a notion as assassination—of murder—of the POTUS to become an acceptable notion.
Cloaking yourself in Jesus is not going to cut it.
