Dishonest blogger speculation. He works in the same jurisdiction as the crime. There is no indication he’s involved at all. US Attorney’s Office for DC has a lot of stuff going on.

The article doesn't say he is responsible for the investigation. It says that he is in the department that handles such investigations. He could be assigned to it.

I doubt he will. I also think the investigation needs to be moved to a different department to avoid any cross contamination from his office being next door to a person who is handling it. Even moved out of DC and to NY or some place that could do the work and not be compromized.
