Whatever. We’ve been through around eight iterations of “Republicans ready to dump Trump” since the primaries began last year. They didn’t do it at the convention, they didn’t do it after the “Access Hollywood” tape, they’re not going to do it over his Charlottesville spin, and they’re not going to do it for Mueller unless he finds something so foul as to leave Ryan no choice politically. And by “foul,” I mean more than Trump nudging James Comey to “let this go” with Mike Flynn. I’m talking about bodies buried in the basement of Trump Tower.
And even then, most of Trump’s fans would say, “Well, whose bodies were they?”

Here’s the big thing though. With all the frustration the congressman says there are no grounds to impeach the President. The consensus, even among senior Democrats, is that impeachment cannot be done just because the President is an idiot or a sympathizer of white supremacists. There must be a crime and right now there is no sign. “I hate to say it, but some of us would really like Mueller to find something we can use,” he said. I asked if he was one of those and all he said was “maybe.”

I sure would like to know.

But even if they were to accomplish such a goal, the Dem/GOPe/Media Party elite are still digging their own graves. They are basically in a not terribly dissimilar sort of situation that the Soviet Bloc was about thirty or forty years ago with the whole thing about to really fall apart under it’s own weight and contradictions.

Outside the “usual suspects” I doubt there are “many” Republicans wanting Trump to be impeached.
If there were, this anonymous Republican congressmen wouldn't be “anonymous”
If the GOPestablishment is even perceived as having any connection with ousting Trump, they will not win another presidency for the next 3 election cycles or more.
Those Trump supporters will be gone and the Dems can run anyone and reclaim the White House.
Pubbies will return to minority status for the next half-century.
In searching for a politician who has suffered comparably to Trump, or vice versa, the obvious answer is Charles de Gaulle. When de Gaulle returned to Paris in ‘44 he was opposed by a great number of parties that sought his demise. There were the Vichy elitists (the swamp), the military opportunists (the Pentagon), the Communists (the Democrat Party), the opportunists (K Street), and politicians of all stripes (the feckless US Congress). If I could be so bold, I would suggest that Trump read the first pages of Jean Lacouture’s “De Gaulle: The Ruler, 1945-1970.” He will then take heart knowing that another soul has endured what he, God willing, will endure.
The bodies that need investigating are a certain DNC staffer and an Assistant US Attorney in FL.
It will be time to create a new party away from the GOPe (that will go the way of the Whigs and the Know Nothings) and win the WH in that manner.
That there is true. Half the country elected this president because he is who he is. Despite the all out effort of the Republican party to elect Hillary, he still prevailed. These people are still behind Trump and I think even more have joined the Trump team. Keep listening to the press repubs and you will lie in the gutter next to it.
You can tell they really aren’t thinking very far ahead as in “hey, I helped impeach President Trump”. Gonna be a great career move for ya’ skippy.
