Just came back from Colorado vacation ... my step daughter lives across the street from a flat field with nothing but prairie dogs. She mentioned a developer cleared the land but could not begin development due to a short spurt of bad weather. During that bad weather the prairie dogs moved in ... and since they are a protected species in Co, development had to be cancelled. Nothing but a field with prairie dogs now.

I lived in Colorado 35 years ago.
A Rancher between Boulder and Lyons welcomed us with open arms to help rid him of the little rodents.
This was pre California migration.

Boulder county actually has a crew that counts Prairie dogs. Really. These people are insane.
