Newt Sounds The Alarm: Trump Won’t Have ‘Stable’ Presidency Without ‘Serious Changes’ [VIDEO]

Former Speaker of the House and longtime Trump supporter Newt Gingrich is seriously worried about the future of Donald Trump’s presidency.

Gingrich, who has consistently been one of Trump’s most optimistic supporters, said Friday morning that Trump is more isolated than he realizes and needs to make “serious changes” if he’s going to have a stable presidency.

“I think he’s in a position right now where he’s much more isolated than he realizes,” Gingrich said in an interview with Fox News’ Bill Hemmer. “On the Hill, he has far more people willing to sit to one side and not help him right now, and I think that he needs to recognize that he’s taken a good first step with bringing in General Kelly, but he needs to think about what has not worked. You don’t get down to 35 percent approval and have people in your own party shooting at you and conclude that everything’s going fine.”

“How many times have we had this conversation? It was John McCain, Gold Star families and Access Hollywood. Is this week that much different than the numerous other situations?” Hemmer asked.

“It is only different in that you go through little ground, little ground, little ground, and after a while you have enough different people pull back that you are in a qualitatively different position and right now, that if he wants to get his agenda enacted that if he wants get things done and have a presidency that is stable, he is going to have to have a couple of serious changes,” Gingrich said.

“I think ‘The Art of the Comeback,’ which is a fascinating book that he wrote in 1997, is a really helpful reminder and he needs to think of what hasn’t been working and what he will do that is more effective in the rest of the presidency.”

Offer Assange whatever he wants so Assange drops some bombs. Declassify enough documents to ‘nuke’ those working against him.
We need to put pressure on Sessions to start indicting people. Learner and Comey should immediately be indicted. Others to follow. Where are the arrests associated with the Charlottesville mess? What is the FBI doing? Sessions, DO YOUR JOB OR RESIGN!!

Quit buying into all the orchestrated noise, as in the BS from Breitbart and Never Trumps about McMaster. We can be our own worst enemies and we are hurting Trump. .

President Trump needs to good on a major offensive attack. He tried it their way and that WILL NEVER WORK. Burn it down if we have to.

Right. I understand what you are saying. Essentially, what I am trying to put forth is that this is a type of war and we can either be very smart and disciple to achieve victory, or we can charge emotionally into fixed bayonets. Personally, I think we can win the war by making the other guys die politically.

The lack of visible action from Trump can only be explained by two possible alternatives. Either he is:

(a) wounded and seriously in danger; or
(b) waiting patiently for the right moment

Trump has the entire federal apparatus at his disposal, including the US military. To believe proposition (a) is to accept an image manufactured by the very same groups engaged in unlawful activity. The dangerous avenue to take is to retreat in the face of evil. They will simply follow you once you no longer have any power.

Option B is much, much more logical. Fight with everything you have; law and history is on his side. Bring superior firepower and leverage the tools at disposal. How walks away from a fight when you have every advantage? It simply doesn't make any sense.

Correct, but the main failure of Reconstruction was that the south was beaten ENOUGH into submission & the traitorous Dem party allowed to revive.

Great weakness of Reconstruction was its corruption, and willingness to ignore both white & black “politicians” who were sucking off the public teat. Blame to go around, but still not crushing the Ds is something we’ve paid for for over a century.

The Base did not elect Trump. Had Hillary been elected, it would not have been her base that elected her.

No “Base” ever provides more than 35% of the vote. To be elected, every successful candidate needs the MOR swing voters. One thing that is important to any such voter is stability... because they equate that with safety. (See Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.)

Our President will keep his “base.” As Newt says however, he needs to work a bit on the MOR voters who elected him.

There may be a point out there where the lines cross and Trump’s administration can gently smother the opposition in their sleep. I suspect the Rats know that and that is exactly why they are “hair on fire” crazy and aggressive. Seems to me politically these are all prongs of an attack Trump’s guys need to make. One prong, kill 0bamacare, another tax reform, another crush the street agitators.

30 years of reconstruction is sort of glossed over in our history books.

Possibly because it was only ten years - 1867 to 1877.

How about the gutless congress do there job?

How about calling out the complicit media who have babied the commie violent left for decades?

How about we stand in the gap? How about we pray like we mean it?

I agree that our President is fighting for us. That said, he and his team need to do a much better job of communicating that to the public, and the clearly viable turmoil must be reduced.

Have you not seen what has happened this week where the left caused violence, a DEM pol in Virginia pushed the violence and DJT got the blame?
How do you even BEGIN to deal with people like this, huh?

GWB was in rhetrospect was pretty moderate and always reaching out to these NUTS, and yet he had movies made about him being behind the plot of 911. And many still believe that

You can NEVER win being nice and consolatory with these people because the dems have moved SO FAR LEFT. They’ve become the party of extremists.
Understand they’ve lost over a 1000 seats in the last 8 years, the majority of state legislators, and governorships and yet both house and Presidency yet they still want to be the boss of what happens in this country.

The Left is "hair on fire crazy" because with each passing day -- in Stevens' case with each passing hour -- President Trump gets closer to nominating one or two -- possibly -- three justices to the USSC.

The Left simply cannot abide this and will do whatever it takes -- whatever it must do -- to prevent this. And many on the Left are so emotionally unstable that anything can happen.

And Trump would do well to plead to Newt’s patriotism to join his administration as its new Communications Director.

I think Gingrich plays a better role as an honest broker, outside the infighting of the West Wing, offering advice for the President to take or leave as he sees fit. Hopefully he will take it more often than not.

Which is why it’s great news that since the election the GOP registrations in 12/14 battleground states have SOARED relative to Ds, and that right now Trump would win with 10-20 more electoral votes than in 2016.

As of today, given new registrations, he’d win NH, MN, and likely NM with NV and ME right on the cusp. And this is assuming he’s made NO new converts—which is utterly silly.

I challenge people to do this all the time. How many Trump voters do you know who have deserted him? (Me? 0-—and I speak to GOP groups all around the Southwest, hundreds. Not one, ever).

Now, how many Hillary voters do you know who now like Trump?
Me: 1.

I have yet to find anyone who answers anything other than zero for question one, and MANY who have positive numbers for question two.

Polls absolutely don’t get this cause they are still in 2016 D/R identification mold. They were wrong then, but are even more in error now because of the . . . voter registration changes.

Well look what happened when he just chastised them with words.
The left went full tilt crazy.
Hysterical.
These are their puppets doing the dirty work. Make no mistake groups like these are trying to throw a coup that the dems are too afraid to do in congress and senate.

I totally agree. The Dems in Congress did what was expected of them, but it was the Republicans who screwed the President.

That said, we all need to remember the serenity prayer:

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Trump cannot change Congress, but he can change the public perception of the inner workings of his White House. He, more than anyone, will benefit if he does.

I think the best way to ‘heal’ the White House comes from the Attorney General. That is, by convening grand juries and issuing indictments by the bushel basket.

Right now, there should be a hundred such indictments pending, after the presentation of evidence to grand juries.

So, get on it, Mr. Sessions.

Please remember one thing. Hillary was a great help in getting Trump elected. Had Biden run, it would have been a real problem. The problem for us would have been, among all the MOR voters, no one “hated” Joe.

I agree, the Trump choice is still operative for most Republicans. But remember, the base does not decide elections. The MOR voters do.... and they are unhappy and afraid. The RCP at 38%, a negative 16, even after the Korea bump, is not good. With an assumed base of 30 to 35, that gives him only a 3 to 8 among the MOR.

I hate these facts, but facts are facts.

This can be fixed, but it will not fix itself.

Especially with those making physical threats against the president, and there should be “leaks” that the Hillary investigation has found “new and damning evidence.”
