Newt Sounds The Alarm: Trump Won’t Have ‘Stable’ Presidency Without ‘Serious Changes’ [VIDEO]

Former Speaker of the House and longtime Trump supporter Newt Gingrich is seriously worried about the future of Donald Trump’s presidency.

Gingrich, who has consistently been one of Trump’s most optimistic supporters, said Friday morning that Trump is more isolated than he realizes and needs to make “serious changes” if he’s going to have a stable presidency.

“I think he’s in a position right now where he’s much more isolated than he realizes,” Gingrich said in an interview with Fox News’ Bill Hemmer. “On the Hill, he has far more people willing to sit to one side and not help him right now, and I think that he needs to recognize that he’s taken a good first step with bringing in General Kelly, but he needs to think about what has not worked. You don’t get down to 35 percent approval and have people in your own party shooting at you and conclude that everything’s going fine.”

“How many times have we had this conversation? It was John McCain, Gold Star families and Access Hollywood. Is this week that much different than the numerous other situations?” Hemmer asked.

“It is only different in that you go through little ground, little ground, little ground, and after a while you have enough different people pull back that you are in a qualitatively different position and right now, that if he wants to get his agenda enacted that if he wants get things done and have a presidency that is stable, he is going to have to have a couple of serious changes,” Gingrich said.

“I think ‘The Art of the Comeback,’ which is a fascinating book that he wrote in 1997, is a really helpful reminder and he needs to think of what hasn’t been working and what he will do that is more effective in the rest of the presidency.”

Seems to me the advice is to capitulate and just become part of the swamp. Kind of like Newt when he sat on the couch with Pelosi saying man made climate change is real and we need to do something about it.

Your name is more “politically correct” than mine but neither ended well. Which is too bad because I can’t think of a single example that does end well. I can think of numerous examples that are very successful for a while. Of course, the US exists because men of principle and character broke the mold of history and accomplished something that had never been done before. Perhaps we can do it again. I don’t see a way from where we are now to that happy day without crushing these Antifa and BLM type of street agitators. I would prefer to see Trump do it but it seems more unlikely every day.

Shockingly, Gingrich isn't intelligent enough to understand what's happening..

It doesn't matter WHAT Trump says or does, the MEDIA will SPIN his actions/comments TO CREATE AN ATMOSPHERE OF HOSTILITY TOWARDS HIM AND HIS ADMINISTRATION.

NOTHING Team Trump says or does is satisfactory to the Soros' Deep State media BECAUSE OF THEIR RELENTLESS CAMPAIGN TO DESTROY HIS PRESIDENCY. Gingrich needs to listen to Hannity who calls them the 'GET TRUMP' MEDIA. Hannity nails it on this count.

Looks like only a Roger Stone fantasy, but the President does seem to be allowing the CFR crowd to call more of the shots.

They are all getting tired of the opposition media steady drip. That’s what the media does, that’s why the right always fears the media.

There is only one way to break the media and that is to make them drip 24/7. No Republican President has ever out paced them before, made frontal attacks on their reporting at press conferences, tweeted instead of going to them with statements, etc.

The opposition media must be broken.

Excellent post. I concur with you.

Yes, Trump needs to make changes. Newt is a serious guy and for him to say this publicly ought to shock people awake — and now!

Yes, this is a battle. Yes, draining the swamp is hard and messy, but Donald J. Trump needs to — right now — employ the strict military like disciple of the most battle-hardened warrior. He must do this now.

This means, in part, putting down the Twitter, except for rare and innocuous or uplifting commentary.

I voted for Trump and I support him fully, but I also realize that the enemy is very, very powerful and the Vichy Republicans are worthless. Trump must steel himself for the battle with a wise discipline. He is no longer the wealthy business titan that can throw his weight around and have people fall away silently.

A strong and stable Trump presidency is a powerful presidency. The deafening silence of Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell along with just about every other Republican should cause serious people to think twice. Yeah, their RINOs, but at some point in a war you need even RINOs.

Agreed. Trump ran for POTUS because he was sick and tired of the same old, same old. He does not kow tow to anyone!

Newt has to understand that.

Why doesn’t the (D) Senator from your state who hints at helping Trump actually do so?? He voted against the healthcare change.

“Bannon not on Air Force One and decision from kelly “

Well if it really is Kelly’s decision then Bannon is done.
It will be a terrible development. So the worst ones are entrenched, McMaster, Carbon tax Cohn, Powel yet Bannon hangs by a thread. Sometimes I just think Trump deserves whatever happens to him.

Gingrich always has these moments when he goes off the reservation. Reason he was not nominated.

Its not Trump that is in danger. Its the GOP Establishment. They have made themselves irrelevant. If the rank and file Republicans have any sense, they will vote every incumbent out of office in the primaries.

Trump’s only problem - and it really isn’t his - are the numerous GOP entrenched career politicians who want to keep things the way they always were - progressively worse and worse while they continue to shovel money into their pockets from special interest groups in return for doing nothing aside from easing their way to make more money from the long suffering American public.

This caught my eye:

“One senior White House said it seemed like Bannon was setting himself up to be a martyr — the nationalist hero fired by the “globalists.”

“He’d return to the outside world, a leader in the populist nationalist movement worldwide, with a partner in hedge fund billionaire Bob Mercer, who has deep pockets and would make Bannon even more of a force to be reckoned with on the outside. Plus he has the killing machine of Breitbart to return to.”

What needs to be done is to start dumping the Democrats in R jerseys.

Corker, Hatch, Heller and Flake in 2018

They need to be first for their betrayal on amnesty

Graham and Alexander in 2020

Murkowsky, Hoeven and Rubio in 2022

Let me speak to the NORKS.

As some of you know, I have certain sources inside the WH. TOP sources.

I asked Team Trump, “Was the Bannon interview with the lefty mag about Korea approved by Trump/Kelly?”

Answer: “Sure.”

Exactly as I knew. No way Bannon makes this comment about an “unwinnable” war in Korea without clearance. So, why?

Answer: Trump already won, backchannel. He then sends Bannon out to make a “public” statement that we “can’t” win. This gives Kim a chance to save face. His people don’t know that he already backed down. THEN, Trump has Tillerson go out and “remind” the NORKS publicly that, ah, boys, we DO still have military force here. (Just in case fatboy starts believing his own propaganda).

I would say Lincoln’s name and situation ended phenomenally well. As well as any war could. Probably if Rs had more guts and stamped out the KKK there would be no DemoKKKrat party today.

Its not Trump that is in danger.

Um, with all due respect, when I see on Drudge a headline that Trump is six votes shy of impeachment that ought to sound the claxons. I don't care what one may think of Drudge, but he puts nothing on his page without meaning -- and it has impact. I also don't think anyone should spin into panic, but I want to win and I don't want death by a thousand cuts or ending up with a sterile Trump presidency.

Read that article from Axios.

Bannon the Barbarian.

He might be better off on the outside and able to do more.

Is Newt acting like a jealous oxygen hog

I like Newt, but he is an oxygen hog.

That said, the problem is that Trump is waging a very real war against the Left and the Leftwing Media. Newt and others need to start encouraging the Republicans and conservatives (no, I did not repeat myself) to rally round the President.

Trump may not be politically correct, but he is always correct in what he says when you dig into the details.

BTW, Trump knows McCain is known as Songbird Johnny McCain. He ain't no effin hero...he's a traitor.

This is not what I want, but what I expect Trump will do late this afternoon (after being pushed by his circle to do so):

Bannon will resign or be fired

Trump will make a speech apologizing in some capacity
