Also indicted was Awans wife, Hina Alvi, who also worked as an IT aide in Democratic congressional offices.
The charges dont have a direct relationship to their work in congressional offices, but the criminal charges add to the political heat directed toward their congressional employers, especially Wasserman Schultz.

This is a hugh and series scandal, but can we talk about old statues instead?
Finally!
“I believe that I did the right thing, and I would do it again, Wasserman Schultz said in an interview with the Sun Sentinel about her decision to keep Imran Awan employed as information technology aide for six months after he was banned from the House computer network and other members of Congress fired him.
Now go after her sorry ass.
Oh my.
“The charges don’t have a direct relationship to their work in Congressional offices”
Wanna bet ?
Nobody deserves a scalding more than the mayo-head Debbie.
Historical reference:
September 15, 1972: Hunt, Liddy, and the Watergate burglars are indicted by a federal grand jury.
This is the first of many, and it will end up being massively bigger than Watergate ever was.
I hope they are investigating his work in Congress.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz ex-IT aide Imran Awan, wife indicted on four counts
************************************EXCERPYS******************************
It was near the end of July when Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultzs former IT aide, Imran Awan, was on his way out of the country when he was arrested at Dulles International Airport and charged with bank fraud. Just days earlier, the Daily Caller reported that the FBI had seized smashed hard drives from Awans home.
See #13.
The Sun Sentinal article is actually in depth and a good summary .
Aside from Debbie Blabbermouths dumb remarks.
Awan and other IT aides for House Democrats have been on investigators radar for months over concerns of possible double-billing, alleged equipment theft, and access to sensitive computer systems. Most lawmakers fired Awan in February, but Schultz had kept him on until his arrest in July.
The case has put renewed scrutiny on Wasserman Schultz for keeping Awan on the payroll for months, even after a criminal investigation was revealed and he was barred from the House IT network.
Problem is, I don’t trust the FBI to do an honest investigation.
The bird will start singing...
PING!!!
Another Awan story and in it, the attorney claims all the articles about Awan’s “illegal activity” in his position at the House of Reps was false.
“Today, it is quite clear that every last one of those reports were utterly false. We look forward to reading the right-wing medias retractions, Gowen said.”
[planting the idea that since the indictment did not include charges on it, his client is innocent.]
