Indeed it is.
A couple of years ago, my son announced that he would like to ride that train. So I did a bit of research and we ended up taking the Capital Limited from Washington, DC to Chicago, and then The City of New Orleans to New Orleans. After a few days in New Orleans, we took the Crescent back to Washington, DC.
It was a wonderful experience. This spring, we decided to take the train to California to visit family--simply a stunning journey--but we flew back.
