The Boston Herald’s Michael Silverman reports that Red Sox owner John Henry is “haunted” by the racist past of previous owner Tom Yawkey and wants to rename Yawkey Way, the tw0-block street that runs from Brookline Avenue to Boylston Street.

New York governor Andy Cuomo announced today that Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson are going to be removed from the "hall of American heroes" at one of the state college campuses. He said it was time for New York to make a stand against the country's "racist past."
I wonder if it occurred to him that the plaques to Lee and Jackson had been there for decades, including the twelve years when Mario Cuomo -- Andy Cuomo's father -- had been governor of New York.
