The congressional calendar is jammed. There are serious doubts that there's room for all the legislation that's lined up waiting for a vote.

... There are just 12 days before the end of September, when the House and Senate are in session together. In those 12 days, Congress has to pass a budget and a debt ceiling extension. That's surely very difficult.

Now throw in the Republican Party walking away from the Republican president. That is what's happening. And the chances of getting a budget, debt ceiling, health care, tax cuts and infrastructure done this year are surely slim and none.

I disagree...ONLY because that would make it too easy for Republicans to formally disavow Trump. Yes, many of the Republicans are cowards and quislings, but those Republicans are still beholden to Republican voters who like Trump AND consider themselves Republicans. The media keep telling everyone that the GOP is going to split. Let's help them keep spewing fake news!

President Trump has hit on the greatest problem in our Country which are the feckless, cowardly, thieving, and self serving corrupt politicians of both parties. The cesspool that is Washington needs to be sanitized before much more can be accomplished.

Thank you for referencing that article SoFloFreeper. As usual, please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

There! Fixed it.

It’s 2017 and we still see the obsolete political terms “Republican” and “Democratic” being used.

Although Trump is accomplishing a LOT as president, it remains that since the uniparty Congress wants to get rid of him that his first two years in office are arguably just practice. That being said ...

Drain the swamp sewer! Drain the sewer!

Remember in November 2018 !

Since corrupt Congress is the biggest part of the sewer (imo) that Trump wants to drain, it is actually up to patriots to drain the sewer in the 2018 elections, patriots supporting Trump by electing as many new members of Congress as they can who will support Trump.

In the meanwhile, patriots need to make sure that there are plenty of Trump-supporting candidates on the primary ballots.

Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitution’s Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal government’s powers.

Patriots also need to make sure that candidates are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal government’s limited powers listed here.

Also, unlike incumbent members of Congress who wrongly remained silent while misguided state officials abridged the constitutionally enumerated rights of citizens during the lawless Obama Administration, patriots need to make sure that candidates on the 2018 primary ballots commit to the following.

Candidates need to commit to making and enforcing 14th Amendment-related laws to prosecute misguided state officials who use state powers to abridge constitutionally enumerated protections, 1st Amendment-protected religious expression and free speech for example, such actions prohibited by Section 1 of the 14th Amendment.

”14th Amendment, Section 1: All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

If the GOP establishment walks away from Trump, it also walks away from its base of enthusiastic supporters. I think that enough Trump supporters have infiltrated the party that, despite some rancor and division, the party as a whole will stick by Trump.

A third party will never work on a national level. It's better to set up a third party at local and state levels, and then use that mechanism to support major party candidates in primaries. The Tea Party was only marginally successful, but they demonstrated how it should be done.

Keep in mind that Donald Trump originally ran for President as a Reform Party candidate in 2000, but he dropped out of the race very early on because he recognized the futility of running on a third-party ticket. He then spent the next 16 years putting together a plan to work the country's two-party electoral system to his advantage. His plan worked to perfection.

In order to walk away they would first have to stood with... and if we're honest, they never did. (And, indeed, considering the amount of corruption and the President's stated wish to drain the swamp the two are fundamentally at odds.)

No, 3rd parties don’t win elections, and we will be stuck with these same Dems manufacturing division.

What needs to happen is all of these RINOs need America First primary challengers to weed them out of the party, and RE-SHAPE the party from the INSIDE to the mold of DJT’s America First platform.

It’s not going to happen overnight, but once America sees some primary victories, we will know that this would be possible, and more challengers would step up.
