Forget moaning, time to get down to business
The Boston Herald ^ | 08-17-17 | Tom Shattuck

Time to breathe, everybody.

I saw the Trump Tower presser Tuesday and thought it was a good event for the president: He jousted with the media, slammed hate groups and thoughtfully brought up the issue of political correctness and its effect on statues and monuments.

I knew what he meant.

Others saw a president validating hate and giving credence and even compliments to white supremacists and Nazis.

They, too, knew what he meant.

Nothing more lovely than a Trillion dollar taxpayer union bailout.. infrastructure. Your great grandchildren will be happy to pay for your bailout. Idiotic when obama did it too. China tried paving their way to prosperity, great role models.

You just don’t get it. You don’t understand

The Presidents objective is to control the news cycle all the time. He very effectively does that by making fools of the presstitutes.

Agreed. They are all so cute with their little wordplays, their special parlance.

Truth is they are all lemmings, all terrified little rodents, wanting to be part of the cool crowd, the latest lingo...I worked for newspapers for some short while, and was disgusted by the mimicry, emulation, the crying need to get the nod.

Someone might coin some giggly term or phrase---and for the next month the entire newsroom couldn't spit out a sentence without working it in.

Losers.

The President tried to recognize that there was violence and hate on both sides and Duke only heard what he wanted to hear.

The more extreme the side, the more they will hear only what they want to hear. That makes it very easy to ID the extremists on the left when they comment on the President's utterances. That also makes it easier to paint the left with the brush of those extremists. Is that divisional identity politics? When in Rome...

Silly me. I thought his objective was to get his agenda passed.

I wish David Duke would crawl back under his rock and stay there.

He's a media whore, and for the first time in years people are letting him on the air.

I want to know where Duke gets his money from.

Duke lived in Russia for five years. Maybe they're funding him in an attempt to make the President look bad and cause distractions?

People hear and believe what they want to hear and believe. If you like fake news you will watch CNN, NBC, CBS, Fox or whom ever. If you like the message you will return again and again to frequent those type fake news providers. I have personally given up turning on ANY such “news” provider.

Obviously I don't have the same insight that you have.

I disagree.

If Trump is to succeed in MAGA, there is no higher priority than defeating the MSM.

The MSM serves blatantly and unapologetically as the propaganda ministry for the DNC, and yet, despite this egregious breech of the public trust, it still enjoys such a powerful monopoly that no politician dares to expose the MSM lies by telling the truth, for fear of reprisals in the next day’s news cycle.

With no significant competing dispensary of public information to serve as a fact check on the MSM, it is free to twist, spin and outright lie as it pleases, which it does relentlessly for two purposes: 1) to advance the causes and narratives of its client, the DNC, and 2) to enforce its monopoly by destroying truth tellers.

The Internet, you say? Social media? Perhaps to a degree, but even there, Google, serves as a gatekeeper to the Internet on behalf of the left, and even as we speak, GoDaddy, FB and Twitter are looking for ways to suppress dissent.

No politician dares to tell the truth - except, that is, the President.

If he doesn’t, who will? Of course, when he says something true, like “There are bad people coming across the borders illegally”, or “All lives matter”, or “The MSM is dishonest”, or “Environental regulations are killing jobs”, or “There was violence in Charlottesville on both sides”, they will use their formidable monopoly to punish him for it, as they have been doing.

So, what is the solution, to avoid telling the truth by refusing to take questions? It seems to me that’s what GWB did, he capitulated and let them write fake news without any push back. In return, they would not call him a racist - oh wait, they called him one anyway.

Let’s face it; we need our leader to be a truth teller - that’s exactly why we elected Donald Trump, isn’t it? He showed he had the balls to confront the lying MSM by telling the politically incorrect truth.

What Trump did at that presser was exactly what needs to be done - and yes, it stirred up an angry hornets nest, and yes, he could have avoided some of it by paying the ransom and sticking with the DNC narrative.

Personally, I’ll be forever grateful to this man for picking this fight with the MSM. It’s hard to imagine how he’s going to win against such a formidable enemy, when they get to keep score and write the history, but if he doesn’t even try - where will we be then?
