'He missed a critical opportunity': Walmart CEO slams Trump for failing to 'unequivocally' reject white supremacists

McMillon has criticized President Trump for failing to "unequivocally" reject white supremacists in aftermath of their violent rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

"As we watched events and response from President Trump over weekend, we felt he missed critical opportunity to help bring our country together by unequivocally rejecting appalling actions of white supremacists," McMillon wrote in statement posted to Walmart's website.

McMillon's full statement:

Respect for the individual is one of our core beliefs at Walmart. And the role we play in communities around the country to build a more diverse and inclusive society is more critical than ever as the tragic events in Charlottesville over the weekend painfully reminded us. Our prayers are with the victims and their families.

As we watched the events and the response from President Trump over the weekend, we too felt that he missed a critical opportunity to help bring our country together by unequivocally rejecting the appalling actions of white supremacists. His remarks today were a step in the right direction and we need that clarity and consistency in the future.

Our country is facing some very difficult issues that require our elected officials, business leaders and community-based organizations to work together. Representing a company with the largest and one of the most diverse groups of associates in the U.S., and an even more diverse customer base of tens of millions of customers, we believe we should stay engaged to try to influence decisions in a positive way and help bring people together. I will continue to strongly advocate on behalf of our associates and customers, and urge our elected officials to do their part to promote a more just, tolerant and diverse society.

Walmart’s headquarters is in the Confederate Slave State of Arkansas. Arkansas still has stars and bars in their State Flag.

Walmart is obviously a white supremacist supporting corporation.

I’m afraid Walmart has been kowtowing to liberals for quite some time. Go to their corporate page and read some of their statements about the things they support. Leftists have blackmailed all big companies by threatening protests and by the ranting and raving of liberal politicians. They’re all running scared.

Well if they kowtow to the leftists they are cowards and don’t deserve my family’s hard earned money.

I believe Menards Home Improvement (they have some boxed and canned foods/drygoods, cleaning products, etc.as well as stuff like lumber and lighting, plants, patio furniture, Xmas trees/decorations, lawnmowers, etc.) and Meijer Food (full grocery and other cleaning type products, clothing, shoes, plants, etc.) are two companies that have not kowtowed to libs...at least not yet, so I will be shopping there.

There’s one not too far from us that has so many Somalis working there that the locals just call it “Somali-Mart”. Many locals, especially white folks, just won’t even go there to shop anymore.

Must be what he meant by:

Representing a company with the largest and one of the most DIVERSE GROUPS OF ASSOCIATES IN THE US, and an even more diverse customer base of tens of millions of customers, we believe we should stay engaged to try to influence decisions in a positive way and help bring people together,” McMillon said. “I will continue to strongly advocate on behalf of our associates and customers, and urge our elected officials to do their part to promote a more just, tolerant and diverse society.”

I love Rite-Aid,haven’t been to Walmart in 12 years when I bought some yarn. I couldn’t get out of there quickly enough.

(By the way,Walgreens owns Rite-Aid.)

It seems the end of diversity is when no white people are left or that whites become completely irrelevant. No wonder there are still neoNazis.

How many neoNazis were at the rally and how many in the US? Are they such a grave threat that we have to bother the President with it when there is so much else he should focus on?

Some have suggested that the left stirred up trouble to divert attention from a Trump foreign policy win with the Norks (as well as other motives that suit their agenda). I think they may be correct.

Wasn’t Hillary on the Walmart board at one time? Putting scum in charge is the goal of putting even bigger globalist scum on the board of companies.

I already called them, too, and both my wife, daughter, and son will as well.

I’d forgotten about that, but I think you are correct that Hillary Clinton was on Board of Walmart. Ugh!!!

Glad you called—my spouse and kids are too!

But plenty on this board still buy from Bozo’s Amazon. A man who is full of evil and hate as evidenced by his Washington Post. He does far more to hurt America than any comments from the Wal Mart CEO.

Good point—I just mentioned Menards and Meijer in another posting as good places to shop.

For us, the Walmart CEO “missed a critical opportunity” to continue seeing any more money from this household. I figure we spend about $1,000/month there on food, dry goods, pet supplies, electronics, etc. We’re done.

Trump can never say anything they will like. These CEOs are just trying to get business. Instead, they will lose business.

WalMart sucks more than any store I’ve ever been in.

Every store is like walking through Detroit, and without EBT cards, it’d go broke.

Good point...so they have sold out to Chinese and the EBT crowd!

I remember when they used to have “Made in America” and “Buy American” banners in their stores...wow times have changed.

I agree—they were hoping to get more crony goodies...when those did not materialize, they looked for the first place to jump off the Trump train...Scumbags!

He’s really stupid. His client base haven’t heard anything about Charlottesville so he could keep his mouth shut and not lose business. Now he will lose business.

While reading this, it occurred to me if Wal-Mart is so tolerant, guessing they'd be fine with me shopping there wearing a mask and carrying a club, just like the very people they're obviously supporting.

Decades ago, I had no idea of what the politics were of companies where I did business. Maybe with the exception of Ben and Jerry’s. Now they make it in-your-face and impossible to ignore. They chose poorly.

Within the last year it bought 1/2 of Rite-Aid Stores-——I was horrified but Rite-Aid kept the same name and most of the store brand products that I liked.

The government prevented them from a complete takeover——but it bought the one that I go to.

My earlier post should have mentioned this.
