Former presidential candidate and current Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich may be moving closer to mounting a primary challenge against President Trump in the 2020 election.
Sources close to Kasich told Willie Geist of the "Today Show" there is growing a sense of "moral imperative" to run against Trump for the Republican nomination in 2020 following his controversial statements on the deadly protest in Charlottesville, Va.

Watching those Hannity specials where Kasich was interviewed for an hour was the most painful thing to watch in a long time. I’m fairly sure the national suicide rate went up those nights.
Kasich is a pathetic clown. He couldn’t make out with a fist full of fiftys.

Kasich will be a footnote in the history books for 2016, and this is his chance to double his significance and be a footnote twice. If he’s smart though, he’ll run as a democrat, so his natural constituents can vote for him in the primaries.
It’s all about how much $$$ he can pocket and how much food he can stuff in his face.
It’s a long time til 2020; I don’t know that I’ll live to see that election. But the political Know-it-alls keep saying Pres. Trump has lost his support, and doesn’t represent the Republicans or the republic anymore, and never did, so bring it on! Let’s see, in open contest, which set of philosophies and policies, and who, the majority of the American People will vote for.
That said, I notice that the pundits left themselves plenty of wriggle-room in that assertion: “may be,” “sources close to,” “growing sense of”, et cetera.
