The Sheriff is a liar. I'll kiss his a$$ on mainstreet at high noon when someone is arrested for this. He is too stupid to understand also that the only group these thugs hate more than Confederates is cops. There is a difference between city cops and the Sheriff’s dept.
The chief of police is a political appointment. It was their deputies that stood and watched and said “It was county property”.
The Sheriff is elected and is not responsible for the apathy and dereliction of duty but he city police.
I hope he catches them and prosecutes.
