The Alt-Right began calling themselves that several years ago on line. These Nazi Solute folks never called themselves that name. CNN simply attached the name to them in order to smear effective pundits on line.
If they would have called themselves Blue-Right five years ago you would now call them “stupid” for giving themselves a name?

What does Alt-Right serve to accomplish, other than give the media a new name to demonize?
It’s such fertile ground, Rush has gone to referencing Antifa and BLM as Alt-Left.
Conservatives have always been trashed by the Left, but when you set yourself apart as a Conservative, as in Alt-Right, you’ve just announced your are the cream of the Conservatives, whether by choice or not.
Sadly, when the media addresses Alt-Right, it’s blatantly slanted, and actually tarnishes all of Conservatism.
It’s like having a bolt loose and having a problem, but it isn’t critical yet. Then you hand the Left a wrench and they take the nut completely off. Then you have a serious problem, if it’s on your car.
Those who classified themselves as Alt-Right, handed the Left a wrench.
