Deadly 'super heatwaves' of will sweep across the US east coast if global warming goes unchecked

FULL TITLE: Deadly 'super heatwaves' of 55°C will sweep across the US east coast, China, India, South America and Europe if global warming goes unchecked.

This summer, a heatwave nicknamed 'Lucifer' has swept across Europe, with temperatures reaching 44°C (111°F).

But a new study suggests that things could get much worse, with a bout of 'super-heatwaves' reaching 55°C (121°F) predicted to hit several areas if global temperatures rise by just 4°C (39°F).

Experts say that these heatwaves will be particularly humid, and could leave more people vulnerable to health risks, including sun stroke and hypothermia.

As a result, if global warming trends continue, many more people are expected to suffer sun strokes, especially in densely populated areas of India, China and the US.

Lead author Dr Giovanni Forzieri said: 'Climate change is one of the biggest global threats to human health of the 21st century.

'Its peril to society will be increasingly connected to weather-driven hazards.

To preserve the health and wellbeing of future generations of people in Europe, the researchers explain the need to address climate change by fulfilling the aims of the Paris Agreement to reduce climate change and increase resilience.

Mass Liberal Hysteria!

There I fixed it for you.

I am not hysterical over this scam perpetrated on the world by the globalist fear-mongers.

What a poorly written article!!!! Un-scientific.

First, it has ASSSUMPTIONS that are ridiculous, and reads as if the assumptions are absolutely expected to occur. The article says the scientific paper “suggests” that IF global temperatures go up by 2 degrees C (and that’s what they’re assuming and counting on readers not to question), then the combined effect of heat and humidity will likely exceed 40 degrees C year after year bla bla bla. The story reads (paraphrasing) IF the global temperature rises by 4 degrees C, then bloody hell breaks out, but IF it’s 5 degrees C, then it’s even worse. Where’s the evidence that global temperature is expected to go up that far, if at all? Why stop at 2 degrees C? Why not 20? Why not 2,000? Oh no, 2,000 degrees C increase in global warming, that might be bad for us! Run for the hills with their shady sustainable forest growth!

Second, it mistakes a CHANGE in temperature expressed in C as an absolute temperature. That is, it says an INCREASE in 4 degrees C causes X, Y, and Z, but it immediately translates absolute 4 degrees C into F degrees (F = C*1.8 + 32). So, yes, 4 degrees C is 39.2 degrees F, but a CHANGE of 4 degrees C (C temp. 2 - C temp. 1) is only 7.2 degrees CHANGE in F temperatures. Example, 37 degrees C (body temp) changing to 41 degrees C (4 degrees increase) is 98.6 degrees F changing to 105.8 degrees F, or 105.8-98.6 = 7.2 degrees. That’s (F2-F1) = (C2-C1)*1.8. But the way the article, and quoting the “scientific” paper, says it, a 4 degree C change equates to a, horrors!, 39 degree change. Of course, 39 degrees increase, and not 7.2 degrees increase, has a more emotional impact on (ignorant) readers, you see, especially us Yanks, who use F.

Third, the story writers couldn’t even be bothered to notice they said the changes would cause both hypothermia (HYPO, early in story) and hyperthermia (HYPER, later in story). Just a typo? Maybe, but an obvious one that should have been caught if anyone writing it were actually THINKING while writing it. And it’s HYPER, just FWIW.

So just more alarmist non-scientific pseudo-religion anti-capitalist garbage thrown out there, at taxpayer’s expense.

Warmer temps mean longer growing seasons and higher yields. More supply equals less demand thus food prices decrease.

The permafrost belt will also recede, making more land available for agriculture.

Hold on, Planet. Al Gore said that when we abuse the earth causing global warming, the oceans would rise. As long as the movie stars live 3 feet from the ocean waves in the Malibu Colony, why should we believe this crap? There has been not one living room window broken, not one grand piano underwater. I’ll wait.

And just how to they suggest — besides dumping a lot of money into the cause — reducing the heatwaves?

Install huge outdoor air conditioners? That would burn energy and cause exhaust fumes.

Huge fans? Those would kill birds.

Domes over cities? Then how would airplanes get in and out?

It seems that the pattern with the climate change advocates is $$$ goes into the cause and stupid ideas come out.

So I guess we fixed that “new ice age” we were facing back in the 70’s.

IOW, the climate will, for a short time, be the same as Southern California when the wind happens to blow in from the desert instead of the ocean. I was attending a science conference at the Disneyland Hotel (do NOT ask me what the organizers were thinking). Temp was 120F. I'm in coat and tie, and it didn't feel all that bad. Of course, being from South Louisiana might have helped.

Plenty of "if" and "possibly" weasel words in this nonsensical article... but let's indulge their fantasies for a bit.

55C = 131F. The highest temp recorded in Death Valley was 134.

So, we'll have Death Valley-like temps on the East Coast. A "hot" day where I live is 90-ish, so these fools would have us believe that high temps will rise over FORTY (40) degrees?

It is to laugh. Go big or go home, I suppose.

Somehow people survive in the Indian sub-continent where 120F temperatures are not uncommon.

Outstanding, sounds good to me! My New England, fall, winter and spring heating oil bills will plummet to the point of costing me $1.00, I can’t wait. :o)

Heat waves have been killing people for the last two centuries in NYC before Air conditioning. 1896 was BAD! I used to have a listing of other heat waves from this time period. It appears many of the web pages have “disappeared” from the internet.
I can also remember lots of heat waves from my youth. BAD heat waves!
