Wonder why the article doesn’t mention Hollywierd politics being an issue? They hate America and the feeling is mutual.

[And of course there were the two misbegotten TV remakes– “Baywatch” and “CHiPs.”]

Nothing says “Moneymaker” like big screen remakes of marginal TV shows.

Media people want to be movie stars...movie stars want to be the media.

Being in the spotlight is the name of the game, converting that in to power and fame.

As the two cults merge into one, both will lose, at least, half their audiences.

“If the best movie of all time were at our local theater I probably would not go. I object to putting money in the pockets of the left-wing Hollywood jerks. They turn around and give it to people like Hillary. I’m glad the industry is failing; those people have brought it on themselves.”

I could not have said it better. Also, there is a dearth of original material. I also object to casting some of each victim group in every film as major characters, especially when the story doesn’t support it. (A black man in Robbin Hood; really?) In addition, I am tired of how white men and corporations are portrayed. And, does Hollywood have any idea how a corporation actually works? When it comes to being an employee 99.99 percent of jobs don’t destroy families either.

The last movie I went to see was Zero Dark Thirty.

Between the volume being enough to make your brains run out of your ears onto the floor, and idiots yelling into their cellphones for the duration, I doubt I’ll ever be back again.

The combination of anti-Christian/white/hetero messaging, global-warming propaganda and a relentless, America-hating bent adds up to a generally crappy product across the board. I’m perfectly fine with the movie industry suffering for many years. Few other industries could be more deserving.

The cure for terrible American made movies and TV is Netflix (and Amazon).

Search for Australia or Canada or British movies TV or Taiwan or Korean TV/Movies. They all make very good movies that lack the hollywood political trash.

Sounds like Hollywood needs to check their elite privelidge and start doing their job once again, that is entertaining us...nothing more.

And let’s not forget the “shaky camera” technique that is supposed to somehow amp up the action, lousy, unbelievable CGI special effects, and that accursed green / gray filter they seem to put on every movie made for the last 20 years.

Dunkirk was exceptional. The last movie I saw was Rogue 1 during which I fell asleep. The ending woke me up and it was very good. Alas, only one actor had any chops and it was the robot. Terrible movie but my handicapped brother wanted to see it. Before that it was Unbroken with my husband and son. Before that it was God’s Not Dead. I won’t 100 % give up going to a movie theater. When the Gosnell movie comes out I will see that one too. I like to support films that reflect Western values and morals. Those are few and far between.

I agree with Hardspunned. I’d rather watch old movies on TCM than going to most of the new ones being made. And I find that I’m growing tired of all the special effects and explosions of modern movies. I don’t even have any favorite actors or actresses whom I will go see, no matter the subject of the movie they are in.

his books still decent, but not as good as the early ones

That's because he wrote the early ones. Most of his later ones are ghost-written, IIRC mostly by his wife.

King is a liberal of the worst sort. He's also a brilliant man, who (quietly) does enormous good with his money in the local community. Truly, a conundrum.

Throw in blaring background music to try to mute the bad acting.

right. I have consciously stopped going to the movies because I am sick and tired of self righteous actors telling me what an ahole I am for not being a liberal democrat. I would love to see the whole industry crumble and I find this news highly entertaining. Americans probably need less bread and circus BS anyways.

Why would anyone want to sit in a movie theatre with a bunch of foreigners and “teens”.

People think it’s just the movies but it is all of the social sphere that is degrading. Shopping malls, sporting events, you name it.

Yes, crap movies and on-line shopping have helped it along, but nothing compared to Diversity.

That and developing a new IP is VERY risky.

So you see reboots, remakes, and sequels. This has worked for over a decade, but the well is running dry.

I don’t even want to see the new Star Wars. I have been a fan since I was three, and they killed it by a stale reboot.

This may be how we have a dark age. The arts collapse, the muses fall silent, and the things our future generations recall of this time are boring shipping manifests and FR.

Dunkirk was ok.

It was very good if you know the history. If you don’t, then you will be confused.
