Protesters ripped down a monument of a Confederate soldier Monday evening. The monument has stood in Durham County, NC since 1924.
WNCN reports:
A crowd of protesters gathered outside the old Durham County courthouse on Main Street Monday evening in opposition to a Confederate monument in front of the government building.
Around 7:10 p.m. a woman climbed the statue using a ladder and attached a rope around the statue.
Moments later, The crowd pulled on the rope and the statue fell.
In 1924, the Confederate statue was dedicated to Durham.
Engraved on the front of the monument is “The Confederate States of America.”
Above it, is a statue representing a soldier who fought in the civil war.
“It needs to be removed,” Loan Tran, an organizer, said earlier Monday. “These Confederate statues in Durham, in North Carolina, all across the country.”
There are similar monuments in several cities around North Carolina.

Well the MLK statue is now Chinese. Especially after everyone urinated on it by voting for someone BECAUSE of the color of his skin.
So it’s perfectly acceptable to destroy public property, huh? No police anywhere in sight. The word is out that the left has a free pass to basically do whatever they want.
I really want to hear from the mayor and the police chief why there were no arrests and no presence.
Will we hear the RINOs and democrats speak out against this demonstration of hate and intolerance?
Then the Viet Nam Veterans Memorials coming down. These Confederates were Veterans.
Gee, I haven’t seen Democrats this angry since Republicans took away their slaves in the first place.
Well I won’t agree with that, I know many fine Vietnamese Americans.
But there’s no shortage of newcomers to the US who can’t wait to strip it of our past. Nikki Haley is a prime example. They have to connection to it, no respect for those that do, and they are happy to join the SJWs in eliminating all trace of it.
I will be very happy when these dims start burning the houses and buildings which were owned by the people who owned and sold slaves. Until then the idiots are simply throwing a temper tantrum.

I am fine with the reparations if they are to be paid by the descendants of the slave owners and nobody else. After all the reparations are to in some way correct the ownership of slaves so those owners and their descendants should be responsible for the correction.
