DURHAM, N.C. — A group of protesters in Durham toppled a Confederate monument Monday evening.
The statue is called the Confederate Soldiers Monument and was dedicated in 1924.
The protest began at about 6 p.m. near the old courthouse and a portion of East Main Street was closed as a result.

You have written a very important post. The Left is following the strategy of anarchy as the means to the ends. It is a way without the ethical principles that founded our great nation. They are the way to fascism which our Founders opposed and wrote a Constitution to protect our people and their freedoms.
I have hopes for the common sense of the American people who elected Donald Trump. The American people are seeing the Left for what they have become. The media and their useful lackeys cannot contain the stench upon the body politics they are. We are witnessing the death rattle of a failed ideology on its death bed. Include our Lamestream Media. What you have described is what America is realizing more and more. There are dinosaurs that have run past their expiration date and it certainly is not those who believe in the principles that America was founded.

But since you are referring to actual slaves, did you know Lincoln said in his first Inaugural address that he would support the Corwin Amendment? (The Corwin Amendment would have made slavery virtually permanent.)
Also, why is there no love for the slaves in the five Northern states that kept their slaves all through the Civil War?
Also if the point was to free slaves, why didn't they start in the Union state of Maryland? The supply lines for the Army would have been much shorter. They could have freed the slaves in Maryland, and then went to Delaware and freed those slaves too!
