Macomb Man In Fear For Life After Mistakenly Identified As Deadly Driver From White Nationalist Rally In Virgina
A Michigan man is facing death threats after being wrongly identified on several alt-right websites as the owner and driver of a car that drove into a crowd in Charlottesville, Virginia, Saturday. Jerome Vangheluwo, of Macomb County, was once the owner of the Dodge involved in the deadly crash at yesterdays rally but sold the car in 2012 to a dealership.
Now he and his son are facing threats after their names, home address and pictures have been circulated online.
Michigan State Police issued a statement on Twitter regarding this misinformation:
.2) Local media if you are contacted by other outlets there is not a Michigan connection that we are aware of at this time.

The suspected driver behind the wheel of the Dodge involved in yesterdays attack has now been identified by authorities as 20-year-old James Alex Fields Junior of Maumee, Ohio.
A total of three people died in the clashes which escalated with the car driving into the crowd of counter-protesters.
Fake but accurate.
I still have a crush on Poteet.
How many people have previously owned this car? I saw a story yesterday that said it was originally bought in Kentucky. And why does the media keep calling it a Charger?
A total of three people died in the clashes.....WHAT a lie???
Sure, one in the car clash, and two in the helicopter clash.
There were 6 pages of legal documents telling me what a bad person I was and how much money they wanted. If I remember it was about $3000 for a sinking, striped 19” sailboat, no motor, not even a cleat. Luckily I had traded it into a dealer who came to my area to get the boat. State marine board had a paper trail and cleaned up the problem by phone. The sheriffs dept that made the claim had access to the records but only went as far as my name.
Evidently the dealer sold it to someone in Washington state who never declared it so they wouldn’t have to pay sales tax on it. They left Oregon numbers on it.
I usually don’t keep receipts for 20 years. I will when I sell my big boat. If I ever f
I’m guessing the real driver of the car might have been in, and is still in, fear of his life too. Just sayin’......
The cops probably thought the first name on the paper trail was the person they could get money out of. Thanks for posting the rest of the story. It’s good things worked out in your favor.
Will the realtor tell prospective buyers?....thought not.
