I'm gonna go way out on a limb here and guess he is.
You have to consider that in the world of the Left, which celebrates transgression, being Black in and of itself is an act of transgression, which means Blacks are otherwise free to remain "homophobic," sexist, and even religious fundamentalists. So long as they vote right and remain in the Big Transgressors' Coalition they may retreat to parochial fundamentalist ghettos and never have to have a confrontation with the filth they're politically allied with.
Notice that uneducated Black chrstianity is never subjected to ridicule or criticism and no Black chrstian is ever asked to bake a cake for a homosexual "wedding."
Actually, it's not just the Blacks (though they're the most visible). All historically immigrant minority communities have that option. Only the founding ethnicities (with the exception again of Blacks, the second oldest non-indigenous American ethnicity) benefit from "multiculturalism." Sikhs, Armenians, and Parsees can get away with their versions of orthodoxy because they're part of our "gorgeous multicultural mosaic."
American will never get pluralism points for the fact that rednecks live here, therefore rednecks will never be protected. Rednecks exist only as the common threat, the danger of whom joins everyone else together.
