To me it’s outrageous that Congress approves a bill specifically prohibiting the CSPC from authorizing safer table saws. As usual, follow the money.

Are you serious in this? really? Are you that deluded?

10 people are injured and you think we need laws? You also approve “safe” guns?

This is not a govt issue, this is a market issue. Manufactures can offer these, do the buyers want it?

Again, You have proven to me that there is not much difference between liberals and conservatives. More govt is the solution to every problem.

As I have been told here, “but OUR laws are better.”

My outrage is towards the lobbying industry. Congress is merely reflecting the lobbyists efforts.

I would like to know what happened to the 30K the lobbying firm paid to try and keep this specific bill from passing.

Trust me if the guberment puts a safety device on a piece of equipment that makes it more difficult to use, people like me will find a way to circumvent it.
The best safety device ever created is your brain, USE IT.
I have worked with power equipment and heavy equipment my entire life, I still have all the parts and pieces I was born with.
1: Think before you do.
2: Check and properly maintain all equipment
3: Plan your moves.
4: Do every thing one step at a time, don’t take shortcuts.
4: Have all materials available.
5: Use all APPROPRIATE safety equipment, most factory add on’s are usually just because some cubical bound bureaucrat decided he knows how to do your job better than you do, even though he or she has never picked anything more complicated than a pencil.
6: THINK, DESIGN, CHECK, EXECUTE.
Rules that work.
