My understanding is that the 3 major groups marched down separate streets towards emancipation park and when they intersected the chaos commenced.
The city intentionally allowed this to happen for the political story or badly botched it and the security. (I say it’s the former as there’s growing stories that the police refused to defend unite the right or were forced to stand down.

This would be an ideal time to name Antifa as a terrorist organization and launch a full probe of its funding, organization and real purposes. Let’s see who in the political establishment is willing to stand up for them. Once a larger segment of the American people get to see what Antifa is all about, then the air will go out of the “resistance” balloon.
And talk about Russian collusion, Antifa is basically just an older version of Soviet interference. There may be no Soviet Union any more but the Internationale is still alive and kicking. The influence of the far left on government, media and academia must be placed in a spotlight, if it doesn’t happen now, the next lurch back to the left in electoral politics will be the last one.
As to the violent counter-reaction, I find it predictable and of course it is EXACTLY what the communists want to provoke, it is part of their play book and they can afford to sacrifice a few pawns to get the power pieces up the board. My advice to these patriotic groups, white supremacists or not, would be simply this, don’t fall into their trap, keep your cool and demonstrate within the law. If you are attacked, defend yourselves but don’t go on the offensive. You aren’t going to bring down the radical left on one day in one act of violence. Removing the radical left from its position of power and influence will take at least twenty or thirty years of sustained effort. Trump’s election win gives an unexpected opportunity to start down that long road.
