So Justice could have himself appointed and the governorship would be Republican.

Yes. However, he’s not a “Conservative”, and would be more in line with Sen. Capito at best and like the execrable Governor of Ohio John “Pig Vomit” Kasick. The best for us would be for him to appoint Attorney General Patrick Morrisey to the seat, since he’s already running for it. Morrisey is more Conservative than Congressman Evan Jenkins, who is also running and is a Moderate Democrat turned liberal Republican (a la Justice or Capito).

Let’s hope if this goes thru, the governor will pick a republican....

James Conley Justice II, is an American coal mining and agriculture businessman and politician who is the 36th and current Governor of West Virginia. Wikipedia

And a Republican, BTW.

I don’t know what he would do. Given his ideological leanings, he’d be more likely to appoint Jenkins. We may soon find out.

"Then the newly Republican governor gets to appoint a Senator.."

Bingo.... "Fleporblog" over @ CTH has outlined Team Trump's 3D Chess to make this happen and that was a repost from "Fredw2". This gives us 50 and the Pence +1 to Repeal & Replace unless another on of the Gang of 11 RINO's throws a monkey wrench in the gear box.

With kudo's to "Flep" and "Fredw2" since you can't link to individual post here is an excerpted take on it, it makes sense to me....:

" Fred2w wrote the following last night: Our President is about to stake a knife into the side of the Democrats and Lucifer from AZ. Folks we may see the greatest 4D chess move ever seen in politics! I can’t begin to tell you how amazing this coup will be. Our President does the Boy Scouts Jamboree in WV in early July. At the same time, the Democrat Governor visits the WH twice in July and has Eric Trump over to his home and goes hunting with Don Jr. Our President goes back to WV for a rally before he breaks for vacation. The Governor of WV decides that he is leaving the Democrat party to become a Republican. He announces his decision on the stage with our President by his side. The crowd initially boos him when he starts speaking but by the time he ends his speech by saying our President is a good man and a great President, the crowd goes nuts! Back to WV! Our President will offer Democrat Senator from WV, Joe Manchin, the Secretary of Energy position. The NOW Republican Governor will replace him with a Republican Senator. It will allow our margin to hit 53 Republicans. This will neutralize Lucifer’s vote for the Skinny Repeal Bill. Now we will have 50 YES votes. Senator McConnell could easily attach the Skinny Repeal to the TAX Reform Bill knowing that we have 50 required votes and can use reconciliation to take care of both in one bill during the same fiscal year."

Now will this actually happen?
Will Manchin be offfered and accept the cabinet post?
He could do a good job as Energy Secretary.
And I think Perry would be a steady hand at Homeland.
C130 pilots are cool calm and collected :-)

That is the million dollar question, will he take it. Does Manchin see it as an opportunity career wise and how does he benefit aka a federal pension on top of his state pension. I hate to get that nut and bolts about it, but you have to wonder what motivates these politicians aka not just power but the dollars....

——Does Manchin see it as an opportunity career wise-—

There is a Republican cola guy as governor. Trump carried the state.

Manchin’s reelection is problematic.

He's 70 years old
Whats a “ career move” to a 70 year old?
His party is going to stay minority until at least 2020 and maybe beyond
So he has no real Senate power

His party is irretrievably hostile to coal, which is the heart of WV

He can only get reelected if he talks and makes promises like a Republican

As a Cabinet member he enhances his dossier immensely and maybe does a lot of good for his state-

heck he might get more highways and govt buildings named after him than “ KKK” Robert Byrd
