I wonder if he’d have himself appointed.

John Raese as a caretaker?

Is Perry leaving Energy?

What is he going to do, go home and challenge Cruz?

Homeland Security for Perry? Meh, whatever.

Manchin is pond scum, he should made be Ambassador to North Korea or ISIS. But I’m all for getting the SOB out of the Senate and REPEALING OBAMACARE.

If he will take the job, would make up for not putting Heitcamp at Agriculture and instead poaching a top tier Senate candidate from MT for the pointless position.

Don’t be short-sighted. Cab secs take orders. #1 priority is control, not just #s, in the senate. Perry can be moved at will.

“Probably, but flopping a month or two after just voting for it would look ridiculous - much more so than 2 or 3 years ago.”

answer:

I am supporting the president, my boss.

I posted to this thread yesterday but the thought you noted occurred to me last night as well . It needs expanding.

Manchin is in fact a Friend of Coal. It is difficult to calculate the magnitude of his hands on ability in the DOE to resurrect the industry that is coal. I visit the coal fields and have direct knowledge of the economic damage the Obama regime did in Eastern Kentucky, West Virginia and South West Virginia.

Mining is the exposed ice berg. The service businesses are the submerged mass of the coal economy. The businesses are too numerous to mention but a dealer in large tires, an up the hollow coal truck repair shop, a mining machinery dealer and overhaul shop, a dealer in the special mining electrical equipment and on and on. Small business with just a few employees were killed off.

I like this idea and hope it happens...then the newly GOP WV Governor can appoint a Senator with an R after his name!

Another potential vote for President Trump’s agenda!

“balderdash, ridiculous balderdash”

You are allowed your opinion, misguided though it be.

“Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

One problem is that people who don’t believe in the devil are not resisting him. He hasn’t been this free in hundreds of years.

Sounds like something Newt would come up with.

Karl Rove, basting away at Trump at every turn, and the guy out foxes and out thinks all of them. Every two bit tv pundit, every 2 bit guy like Trump and the rest can even begin to beat Trump.

For the first time since maybe the days of Eisenhauer, Kennedy and Nixon, you got a smart cookie in charge.

Let’s hope if this goes thru, the governor will pick a republican....

No, Munchkin would be doing what’s best for his state, more than he could do as democrat senator. He’s now out of the politics. Making more money than a Senator, then his future looks great too.

Don’t know if he’d do this, as Trump could fire his butt at any turn.

Yep, only the Republican Establishment scum & vermin Senators, McCain, Murkowski and Collins vote against their party. I blame McConnell, the weak sister he is, for failure to keep these low life traitors in line...He did not...therefore he must go as Majority Leader. Pubbies in the Senate....broom and Dump, McConnell right now!!!

I agree with Fieldmarshaldj. HELL NO to Perry at Homeland Security. I held my nose when he was appointed Energy Secretary, but I do not want Mr. "Vicente Fox's vision of open border is a vision I share" in charge of Homeland Security.

And John Kelly was an excellent point for Homeland Security director, IMO.

There is far more to it than just west Virginia. What goes for West Virginia also goes for all the Coal Fields of Eastern Kentucky and South West Virginia.

That which helps in appalachia, helps in Wyoming and Arizona. The DOE becomes a tool for the coal industry to emerge from the ashes

The problem is that Perry supports amnesty.

Get rid of Manchin

He probably would've won reelection since he's very popular!

I understand, but I’ve spoken out strongly against RINO Perry for a long time, especially on his being a stooge for La Raza and a Bushie/Rovian Open Borders disciple. Putting him in charge of Homeland Security is antithetical to President Trump’s promise on border security: He is an absolute menace. This guy shouldn’t even be in any position of authority or responsibility.

WV doesn’t have a Lt Governor office. Next in line to the Governorship is the State Senate President, who is a Republican.

And I’ll gladly take him for a senate seat. Cabinet officials, especially in the Trump admin, have the life span of a fruitfly.
