North Korea acts up as a lure to protect Iran and once did the same for Saddam’s Iraq, as did the Palestinians. It’s been like that since the 1980s- a theatrical presentation, in a similar way to the dramatic broken wing act a mother Killdeer uses to draw predators away from her chicks. If it looks like the US and Israel are going to get tough on Iran, it’s a given that the Norks will act up, in order to draw resources away from their ally.
Used to be, N Korea was always joined by one of the West African dictatorships, too, which always resulted in us having to assign a ship or ships to evacuate American tourists and diplomats.
