Can someone show us a climate prediction that has ever come true?
American Thinker ^ | 08/10/2017 | Jack Hellner

It's another day, and we get a new story about how dire the climate threat is and that it is unambiguous that humans are a significant cause.

What is rarely noted in these articles is actual facts that support the theory. I would love to see actual temperature data for each decade for the last 150 years, including where the measuring stations are located. It would be especially interesting to see rural data where cement and asphalt don't inflate the temperature. It should also always be noted that a "Little Ice Age" ended in 1715 and that some warming would be normal.

Why don't we see a list of storms, droughts, and floods from each decade to show the trend? Even if there is some sort of a trend, how would it be attributed to humans, since the climate has always changed through billions of years when humans and fossil fuels could have had no effect?

It would be good to see a sample of sea levels throughout the world for each year for the last 150 years. A sample of 100 spots throughout the world may give us a reasonable average for comparison. My guess is that they don't take actual measurements.

Instead of facts, these articles always give us theoretical predictions. I would ask the reporters how many previous predictions of the last 30 or 100 years have been accurate. I can't think of any. Why should we believe the new predictions?

We were told after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 that hurricanes would be more frequent and stronger than ever. Instead, we have had more than eleven years where hurricanes have been mild to nonexistent. Tornado activity has also been lower than normal, so why are we told that storms are getting more extreme?

Any record of cavemen recording the prediction of the Ice Age ending

Ancient cavemen used to make sacrifices to their gods, in order to gain favor with them and be blessed with good weather for harvests, hunting, and so on.

10,000 years later, the powers that be demand sacrifices of the masses for roughly the same thing. History never repeats, but it does rhyme....

Don't be fooled. It's the calm before the storm. All those rain drops that have been kept from falling due to climate change are building into a mega storm the likes of which would amaze Noah. The hurricanes we should have experienced by now are amassing into one great snorting beast in the southern oceans waiting for El Nino and La Nina to resolve their differences and release el toro furioso del cambio climático from the chute. Ay de mis Dios...

If you keep an eye on week-ahead projections of weather, you will probably notice that projections for a given day can change as that day approaches.

Tidal gauge measurements have been taken for centuries. A good worldwide sample is possible from around the 20's. It shows that rising sea level is linear and small, essentially as it has been since the end of the Ice Age.

To get "acceleration" the fudge packers have to use satellite altimetry and then adjust that to get a faster rise than gauges. The adjustment is astonishing. Continental drift is causing a drop in sea level, all other things being equal. The fact that continental drift makes the rise from any cause smaller is a reality on this planet. But they dislike that reality so that adjust it out of existence.

Yep. This climate change BS reminds me of the Ooga Booga voodoo man. He throws ‘magic dust’ into the fire, flaming it up, to keep the monsters in the jungle from coming out at night to eat the villagers. If you quit paying him, he’ll quit throwing the magic dust in the fire—and then monsters in the jungle at night will come out and eat everyone.

So you’d better keep paying the Ooga Booga man (21st century version, Al Gore).

Down here in southern Florida, in the middle of summer, they usually predict a 50% chance of thunderstorms. They’re usually correct.

When I lived down there, I always thought that the easiest job in the world was being a weatherman in South Florida, you basically give the same forecast every day.

“... can not create a computer program that can accurately calculate ...”
-
That is right.
The first model was created and could not predict future results.
The math and variables were adjusted for a second model, and it also failed.
A third model attempted to adjust the data, and it also failed.
As of now there have been over 100 models created,
adjusting the math, the variables, the data, or all three,
and they have all failed.
What they do now is to average the results of all of the models
and claim that result is the correct prediction.
Since when does averaging 100 “wrong” answers yield the “right” answer?

“Climate scientists” remind me of the ape’s analysis of the Monolith in the opening scene of Kubrick’s 2001:

In a chaotic system, small changes in values result in huge changes in outcome.
So, no matter what fancy name they give to the program, it will always produce garbage.

The technical name for it is "sensitive dependence upon initial conditions". What that essentially boils down to is that we've known that long term weather prediction, much less climate prediction has been known to be impossible since Lorenz. A read through James Gleick's "Chaos", published in 1987 goes over this with some detail, even though the book is only tangentially related to the subject, as it was written before "global warming" became a thing, or political issue.

They can’t predict the weather because it’s mathematically impossible to predict the weather. Weather is a chaotic dynamical system which is 100% deterministic, that means that there is no probability model for weather. Thus all weather predictions are wags (wild a$$ guesses).
