No. Two realities that Freepers don’t want to get:
Trump’s hold on the presidency is still tenuous. They are looking for ANY reason to impeach. Be can’t (one year out from an election) alienate any sitting senator.
2. Strange has voted right. Trump can’t say, “Well you voted right but I know what’s in your heart.” That won’t fly.
Maybe in that case it would have been better not to tweet his support for anyone. Let the R’s fight it out.
My vote will go to Mo. August 15th.
Luther might be better than a Democrat . . . but I won’t cast a vote for him regardless of Trump’s support.
I agree. Trump is a team player. No one can say he’s not. McConell asks for his support, and he gets it. If the other guys win, then that’s good too. If he supports the other guys and they lose, then Strange is no longer beholding to Trump.
Good political move to support the guy who’s been in office, and has shown support for the Trump agenda.
Moore sounds like a flake, and I don’t know the other guy.
If you're talking about alienating McConnell, how do you balance the desire of "supporting McConnell so he'll support you" with the potential of adding a Senator who might weaken McConnell's grip on leadership?
Wouldn't Trump want more Republican Senators who might vote for a new party leader? Wouldn't it be a better influence on McConnell if he sees his own base in the Senate diminishing?
McConnell is a fair-weather friend, at best.

I accept the Strange endorsement as strategically correct and send my donation to Moore while hoping that Moore or Brooks will win it.
Thanks for your insight.
That’s ridiculous. All Trump had to do is not endorse anyone if he were wanted to respond to some sort of perceived pressure to back the Rove/McConnell candidate.
And Strange has already vowed to stick to the filibuster majority, which is expressly against Trump’s stated position.
Didn’t Reagan have a rule about not getting involved in primaries? I would amend such a rule. Don’t get involved in primaries between qualified conservatives. In Alabama, he should probably stay out, while telling McConnell that he should stay out, too.
Support qualified (meaning they are not nut jobs, and can win the general) conservatives against Rinos. The only exception to that is in a liberal state, it is ok to support a Rino. The RINO should be loyal to the party, not like Collins who is just basically a democrat. A RINO like Linda would be ok in Maine; not in SC.
