Currently Trump has nothing to lose with the endorsement. Regardless of who wins Brooks, Moore, or Strange they are expected to follow most of Trump's agenda.

Brooks as a known entity in the House may be better for Trump if he stays there.

Moore will be a magnet for controversy.

With the endorsement of Strange he gets some support from the Turtle (regardless if we like, he is there now).

“Currently Trump has nothing to lose with the endorsement.”

I don’t agree there’s nothing to lose. There’s more in play here than just the individual Senate seat, there’s the broader Drain The Swamp agenda to consider.

What does it say to potential candidates considering a 2018 primary run against a RINO when the President endorses the biggest swamp-creature in a 3-way race with two other decent conservative picks?

We’ve all seen the failure of McConnell, Ryan and the rest to deliver on what they’ve been promising for 7 years. Now is the time the movement to replace them needs to be gathering strength. This endorsement seems like a big help to McConnell is shoring up his defenses against that movement.

Have no doubt he’ll now be singing a tune of ‘I can get the President to endorse my preferred candidates’ to big money donors. The loss here could well be millions of $$$ extra in primary funds for the swamp-creatures.

Moore will be a magnet for controversy.

Moore will be a magnet for sanity.
