Ed Klein: Hillary's Plea Bargain
Newsmax ^ | 08/08/2017 | Ed Klein

The Justice Department has reopened the investigation of Hillary Clinton's mishandling of classified material on her private email system while she was secretary of state, and is considering offering her a plea bargain if she will agree to plead guilty to charges of breaking the law, according to a Clinton attorney.

The discussion of a plea bargain took place late last month and was offered by a high-ranking Justice Department official to the Clinton lawyer.

During the exploratory talks with the prosecutor, the Clinton attorney was told that despite former FBI Director James Comey's decision last July not to prosecute Hillary, the Justice Department has reexamined the email case and believes there are ample grounds for prosecuting Hillary on a number of counts.

Under the Justice Department's plea offer, Hillary would be required to sign a document admitting that she committed a prosecutable crime. In return, the DOJ would agree not to bring charges against Hillary in connection with the email probe.

Also as part of the agreement, the Justice Department would not proceed with an investigation of Hillary's pay to play deals with foreign governments and businessmen who contributed to the Clinton Foundation or who paid Bill Clinton exorbitant speaking fees.

I think you’re right. I don’t believe a word of it.

If she signs that document, it’s there for the history books that she committed a crime.

Who reads the history books these days? Picture in a jumpsuit or no deal.

Who knows what a rogue judge would do with the case?

We all know what a rogue judge will do - declare her President by reason of being with her.

Well, if you’re too cowardly to prosecute her .. then just resign and be done with it.

Why is it that only Hillary is given a pass from criminal activity ..?????????

THIS KIND OF CRAP HAS TO STOP.

Sorry to be a cynic, but I have to call BS on this story. None of the swamp dwellers have been or ever will be prosecuted. I pray daily that I’m wrong and we will get back to a place where the rules apply to all in an equal manner.

“Local radio said they didn’t even open the investigation until Comey was no longer FBI head.”

Is local radio confirming this story from Newsmax?

I don’t know why anyone would think this would be fakenews.

From Ed Kleins website, his bio shows he worked for two of the top media out there: The New York Times and Newsweek.

I am sure this is where he received his excellent coaching and training on journalism and journalistic standards.

I just wanted to point this out.

It was a station in Dallas.

Not sure where they got their info.

Will be a big story if she pleads to ANYTHING.

Find it hard to believe given their history.

How is that anything other than a double standard for the powerful? Billions and billions of pay for play corruption at the highest level of government—and the Trump admin just wants to do a more formal version of what Comey did?

Yep. Get him convicted and then his testimony is worthless...he’s a convict as soon as he pleads guilty.

They were not “pay for play” deals.

They were bribes!

No prison for hillary. No investigation to Bills fees. No investigation to clinton foundation 245 million pay to play.

And the people of the USA get no explanation or justice. Prosecute her and bill. Let the chips fall where they will. At least fight the good fight and don't let that bitch talk her way out of prison time. If she wins.....well that is the system. Make it fair. But try the case....cases. Put her through hell.

What a sweetheart deal.

She never gets charged or convicted. She just says she committed a crime. And then they also won’t look into her pay to play crimes.

This is bullshit. They need to get a stronger deal for the gov’t. She at least has to get a conviction on her record.

” it’s there for the history books that she committed a crime.”

Are you serious?

This is nothing but a trial balloon to see if we will buy into to it. They know they have their nuts in a vice and half of DC is in on the gig. If somebody scratched the surface of this then the emails, Anwa IT guys, Clinton charities, collusion with Russia and the uranium deal will all pop out and we will see all the Dems and Reps that were involved. You would need an Amtrak train to bring them all to prison.

This is a get out of jail free pass for hundreds of DC rats!

The train would go to the wrong prison and get there late.
