On Monday, Fox News Senior Judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano weighed-in on Chicago’s pending lawsuit over the federal government’s sanctuary city policy.

“The courts will stop him [Attorney General Jeff Sessions],” he said.

Napolitano pointed out this grant money isn’t the Trump administration’s money to take, however. That grant was from the Obama-era, and at the time, there were no strings attached in the original bill that Congress passed related to helping the feds with immigration.

The DHS can send in all the ICE agents it wants, and the DOJ can prosecute through US Attorneys. That’s enforcement of federal law. Some steps are being taken, just not enough yet.
There are limits to interfering with Congressional appropriation of money.
But withholding highway funds if a state doesn’t reduce their speed limit or raise their drinking age is okay. Our government has gone completely nuts.
The good judge likes men. Anything he says must be viewed from shall we say that angle....
Hope on this he is wrong.
I believe he is right about Robert Hannigan.

The judge is sounding more and more left-of-center . . . just like the rest of Fox.
And they find ways of getting rid of people that won’t adjust (Bolling).
The culture at Fox has shifted.
This guy has become an attention-seeking ghoul lately, trying to entertain never-trumpers and Russia conspiracy nuts. Not surprising he predicts bad outcomes for Trump.
Impounding previously appropriated money would give a president line item veto power, which the office does not have. Using monetary penalties to break sanctuary city polices would require legislation, which I am sure would not be passed by the uniparty. So the Judge is likely correct. Of course the courts will find any pretext to override Trump.

Napolitano was against the Arizona immigration law, and now he opposes Trump cracking down on sanctuary cities. I wouldn’t want him on the Supreme Court.
