Grandmother Deported for Voter Fraud Leaves U.S. in Tears
MSN / NBC ^

Posted on 08/05/2017 5:39:07 PM PDT by SMGFan

"I cannot process it," she said, choking back tears. Without much evidence, President Donald Trump has often referred to millions of people voting illegally in this country. Fitzpatrick now admits she did cast two ballots improperly — but she insists it was not intentional.

Her story is one that stretches over three presidential administrations: those of Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump. It's a story that sheds light on potential gaps in federal law, the limits of the judicial system and the agonizing consequences of what one woman calls a horrible mistake

Everyone knows voting is for US citizens only.

She knew she was not a citizen.

There should be proof of citizenship for voting.

She’s lucky she is going home. Sedition should be punishable by hanging.

It was all the DMV clerk’s fault for asking her if she wanted to register to vote. Seriously, read the article. She actually said that!

This injustice cannot be allowed to stand! Repeal the Motor-Voter Law immediately!

Sure she was. I’m sure that’s what La Raza told her to say.

One good reason for this deportation is to discourage other illegal aliens from voting. The more publicity this case it gets, the better.

President Obama himself encouraged illegal aliens to vote. He said that it was not against the law. A case like this will demonstrate otherwise.

She admits to voting in two elections for school superintendent.

Of course, she may have voted and dozens of elections, but this is what she admits to.

MSNBC writes the article citing the votes she admits to, but does not say whether not he was convicted or accused of voting in other elections.

So by admitting to voting in two local elections, she makes the story very sympathetic to her self. After all nobody cares about school board elections anyway.

We should not base our arguments on her self serving admissions.

Anybody who votes illegally should be hanged, not deported.

Actions have consequences

Liberals have made laws against consequences, precisely to counter your statement.

Isn’t whether or not a person voted in an election public knowledge? Has anyone checked?

And did you miss the part where SHE TOLD the immigration officer what she had done when she found out it was wrong?

“It wasn’t until she applied to become a citizen in 2007 that she said she learned those votes had been illegal. She admitted to the immigration officer what she did.”

The first president of Chile was Bernardo O'Higgins.

Alberto Fujimori was president of Peru until in the 1990s.

Where do people get the idea that all the people who immigrated to South America were from Spain?

How is she a criminal alien?

She immigrated legally, learned English, and became a nurse. Sounds exactly like the ‘legal’ immigrants we want.

It wasn’t until she voted in two school board elections 10 years ago that she did something wrong. And whether or not someone votes in an election is public knowledge.

Even the judge admonished the state, saying she was mis-led about whether or not she could vote. And the state has changed the rules.

“A federal judge reviewing Fitzpatrick’s case appeared to make the same point, asking prosecutors why she was even asked about registering to vote in the first place when the clerk should have seen she wasn’t an American citizen.”

“In response to a request Fitzpatrick made in a letter she wrote its governor in 2009, the state of Illinois changed its policy, instructing personnel to remind applicants that they must be U.S. citizens to apply to register to vote.”

And she wasn’t caught. She told immigration what she had done when she found out it was wrong. If she had kept her mouth shut she would be a citizen now.

“It wasn’t until she applied to become a citizen in 2007 that she said she learned those votes had been illegal. She admitted to the immigration officer what she did.”
