McCain Slams Trump, Backs Top General in Afghanistan

Sen. John McCain knocked President Donald Trump after reports emerged that he is considering dismissing the top U.S. military commander in Afghanistan, CNN reports.

Trump reportedly expressed frustration with his military leaders during a White House meeting, apparently complaining that "we aren't winning, we are losing," according to NBC News.

"Gen. John Nicholson has served our country with honor and distinction for 35 years. He has earned the trust and admiration of those he has served with. And he has earned my full confidence," McCain said in a statement.

"Our commanders-in-chief, not our commanders in the field, are responsible for this failure," he added. "I urge the President to resolve the differences within his administration as soon as possible and decide on a policy and strategy that can achieve our national security interests in Afghanistan and the region."

Trump's deputy assistant, Sebastian Gorka, pushed back against these reports, saying that the president is "absolutely" confident of Nicholson's leadership.

"It is not a question of confidence, it is a question of inheriting bad ideas, false assumptions and reassessing what's good for America."

Gorka did admit that "nothing is carved in stone," and that "He wants everyone to look at the core assumptions upon which our plans are based, and say are these assumptions sound."

Speaking as a Vietnam veteran myself, McCain is an embarrassment to the military as well as America...

He had no vitriol for Bammy. I clearly recall an elderly woman asking him if an Obama Presidency scared him and he said ‘no, there’s nothing to be afraid of’, in 2008 (paraphrased). AND HE WAS RUNNING AGAINST BAMMY AT THE TIME!!

I really hope that John McCain can be successfully removed from the tumor and that the tumor fully recovers.

John McCain, for reasons of his own, appears to want the US engaged in a “Forever War”, neither victorious nor defeated, but left to grind away with no resolution ever.

That is, the send just enough strength into battle to keep the fight “fair”, but never, ever, coming to a conclusive total retreat (as we suffered in Vietnam), or to unquestioned victory (Victory over Japan, August 1945). Rather, the situation is never settled as shown in the example of North Korea, with whom we are still technically in a state of war, as no peace settlement has ever been signed.

Some day we are going to resume the doctrine of General Douglas MacArthur.

At least kick the butts of the former enemy so convincingly that there is no probability that they shall ever regroup and rejoin the fight, or concede their hegemony and avoid further direct contact, as we did with Cuba for decades. But the second alternative shall inevitably return to haunt us, until it is fully resolved.

But, until he does pass on, either he or a minion will be posting daily rantings against Trump. Dang, I would even be expecting them after he passes.

McCain is often described as a Republican maverick, but he’s really nothing more than a pathological narcissist who craves attention.

He clearly resents Trump’s success because it highlights his own failure to get elected president.

Did we elect McCain as our president? This is about as ridiculous as those saying Lyn’ Ted is qualified to be president, on the SCOTUS, or even reelected. What is with these prima donnas?

McCain is doing to Main Street what his North Vietnamese captors did to him. While 30 million people get crushed by Ocare, McCain has the best of the best for his cancer treatments. While people are getting slaughtered by illegal immigration, McCain wants to throw the doors open.

McCain acts like a man who has nothing to lose and wants to go out in a blaze of delusional glory.

He is ok with watching people suffer and die just like the North Vietnamese did to him. He is going full Stockholm syndrome.

The positive is 2 months from now he will not be around. Out of nowhere an announcement will pop up that McCain has stepped down just like Ted Kennedy.

“decide on a policy and strategy that can achieve our national security interests in Afghanistan and the region.”

Ahem, McBlame, who exactly put us on the policy we have now?
Let me consider, was it Bush? Well, partly yes. Was it O dumber, mostly yes. Are either successful? Not so much, in fact, after the early successes, it became a quagmire.

So now, McBlame, what exactly should are national security interests be? Well, allegedly we went there to take out the
Taliban. Did that work, for a while it did. We have retrogressed since Obummer announced our withdrawal, date certain. Now then, do we just give up or do we go back in and finish the job. Well, seems like Trump is leading toward leaving albeit he thought about adding more troops. My guess is if the country is not going to go all out to win and hold on there like in S. Korea where we still have troops, perhaps the best plan is to say adios. I leave that decision to the CiC, not to you.

I have doubts that McCain’s diagnosis of a malignant tumor is correct. I think it is more likely a cover to allow him to be even more vindictive in a perverted way. My bet is that his recovery will be a miracle and used to enhance his standing. He’ll be around until the next time he runs for reelection.

“but never, ever, coming to a conclusive total retreat (as we suffered in Vietnam)”

Fake history.

Nixon’s Vietnamization program succeeded. The south demonstrated its ability to defend itself from the commies before the troops were pulled out.

It was the Cape Cod Orca and his fellow traitors in our government who betrayed our allies after Nixon was brought down by fake news and lying demonrats.

We won that war. The dembiciles threw away the peace.

I have no reason to trust anything that Sen. John McCain has to say.

He is untrustworthy and a proven liar. Time and again he has said one thing and then actually done another. He lacks integrity and honesty.

How can anyone trust him and believe him?
