Awful choice. One, he is a lawyer, not in law enforcement.
Two, we needed a Director that would kill the wrong idea that the President may not “meddle” in their investigations.
He IS the Chief federal law enforcement officer in the USA, just as he is THE commander in chief of the military. A general may not over rule him in a military manner. And an FBI man may not over rule him.
The FBI is not an independent agency, set as a watchdog over the executive branch. The mentality at the FBI today is utterly against the Constitution.
No surprise, that ratty branch is a pure distilled product of the Wilson progressive era.
