Even if you don’t use Google as your search engine, you don’t really bypass Google, unless you use NoScript or similar in your browser.
Even Free Republic uses Google to track you.
Every FR page has a Google-analytics java app to track every visitor, unless they have it disabled through one of the script blockers.
Although at least FR gives you the option to disable it and still get the content.
A lot of websites will disable presentation of its content unless you allow Google to run its spy apps.
And the majority of websites not only run Google-Analytics Apps, they run a wide variety of Google apps,; I’ve seen up to 60 apps from up to eight different Google entities run on a single page, without a script blocker to stop them.
