'This is our flag': County tears down memorial, town rebuilds it
Fox News ^ | July 30, 2017

A Washington town took action after a roadside memorial honoring veterans was removed by county road crews.

The “years-old display” of American and POW flags in the town of Preston was taken down after someone filed a complaint. Crews said they took the original flags down because they didn’t have permission to be there.

On Thursday evening, angry residents hung up new flags. “People were really, really upset about this,” one resident told KOMO.

Another local man, Robert Cunningham, said it doesn’t make sense that one complaint led the memorial’s destruction.

“One person says they don’t like it, and they take it down. I don’t understand,” he said. “We live in the United States of America. This is our flag. Why is it offensive?”

Guess they don’t know that Democracy is the vote of the majority not a single individual. Seems that’s the way it’s working in the US now. One person complains .....

I think that this is a good idea, in terms of organizing citizens initiatives and groups aimed at protecting statues and monuments and related things from being vandalized or even destroyed by the BLM people and the local governments that kow-tow to them.

The leftists (including many here on FR) had such success removing other American (Confederate) flags and monuments that they have decided to have a go at the rest.

When at first glance the words Preston township caught my eye then not Wisconsin but Washington. Funny part about this is we have had a similar situation since resolved but the location for this memorial was on private property. Something like that might happen in Madistan but not here in Trump country.

Dollars to donuts it was an outside group that complained...

If not find the person who complained and make them ride the rail out of town...

Lots of patriots in Preston - and a few loony-toons (and yes - it only tales one to spoil it for everyone)

Could be a leftwing flag hater but it could also be a WW2 era veteran who believes the manner in which the flags were displayed were a violation of flag etiquette, particularly if they were becoming soiled and tattered or were touching the ground.

It is disgusting that in this and so many other issues we have allowed political correctness to push us to the point where one nasty heart liberal can dictate policy for an entire community, but the reverse is not true.

"....One person says they don’t like it, and they take it down..."

One unilateral complaint makes the spineless authorities buckle under and give in to the negative minority. The majority is ignored.

It's about time more citizens sent this same message to their leaders across the country.

The Silent Majority got Trump elected and they will be silent no more.

No surprise. This is King County (Seattle and environs). There is probably some county ordinance which prohibits showing any appreciation for those who have served our country.

“County officials said they want to find a new location for the memorial because the current spot can become a visual distraction for drivers to look away and potentially get into accidents.” Total bullsheist!

Like maybe half a mile away in the forest ? And I’m sure they’re going to remove ALL those other ‘distractions’ like ‘casino, exit here’, right?

The ‘officials’ involved are nothing less than antiAmerican leftist scum.

Right. It really is upsetting when one person objects to something at a school or town or whatever and those in power just cave to that one person.

Man me the person that “complained”. I want the name. It’s always a lone, annonomys individual that overrules the majority. Have that individual come forward and tell the majority why they are offended. And have their name made public for all to know.
