If a new HealthCare Bill is not approved quickly, BAILOUTS for Insurance Companies and BAILOUTS for Members of Congress will end very soon!

This is very important! Not only Congress’ special exemption, but others that have kept Obamacare afloat. Make it hurt the people in power, and things will change.

While the congressional subsidies are great press, the ones I want to see get it in the end are the insurance companies who lobbied for this system, bought out the Congress, and figured they would have a wonderful both sides of the equation i.e. people paying huge fees for coverage and others receiving subsidies thereby increasing their income. What really galls me is most of these are allegedly “not profit based” companies.

If one looks at whom were the biggest lobbyists, it comes down to these insurance companies who were on board from day one. They in fact wrote a good part of the legislation.

When Trump began to mention having companies offer insurance across state lines, they went into cryto ballistic mode for two reasons: first they would actually have to compete and second they would have lost their state paid for “commissions”.

This played out great when the public began to think of health insurance as health care. They are not the same but the notion was pushed by these firms.

Well, unless he’s a member of a very small group of survivors, he’s going to die, it will be soon, and it will be painful. Just lost a HS classmate to Gilio Blastoma brain cancer a couple of weeks ago. It is a ghastly disease.

Of course, the function of an insurance company is, like that of any business, to make money for itself. So the situation wasn’t good to begin with, if only because the federal government was already very involved, both from a regulatory and a consumer end.

They were originally hoping for more flexibility, which had gradually been taken away from them. Then Obama made them an offer they couldn’t refuse, because he basically guaranteed them huge profits for a theoretical risk that probably never got realized (preexisting conditions, which in my case meant a treated melanoma I had 30 years ago that prevented me from buying insurance ever after) on the one hand and huge deductibles on the other. So from their point of view, what’s not to love?

Yes, that’s what he’s talking about. It is an administrative rule that Obama gave to subsidize Congress health insurance costs after their ‘irreplaceable’ staffers cried about the cost of Obamacare exchanges which they are in. Goodbye staffers if you don’t want to pay what other citizens are paying! You are not irreplaceable! You are very replaceable as are members of Congress! Change the administrative rule Mr. President. MAGA!

I guess I am nor completely sure, based on what I’ve been able to find out, just how Congress “exempted itself.” Some judge ruled back in 2015 that “Congress left the subject vague enough” so as to allow them to buy their insurance through the DC Small Business Exchange ( even though they are not a “small business), but it appears that there is no specific law that enables them to do this. Rather it appears that Obama passed “administrative regulations” that made it possible. If that’s the case, Trump has a lever to either fix the problem or use it to force the Congress to pass the Repeal and Replace. If anyone knows different, or can amplify what I think is the case, I’d love to hear it.

>> Not sure of what these Bailouts for Congress members are.
Special exemptions and privileges?

Maybe the BAILOUTS were made through EXECUTIVE ORDERS!

There's millions of reasons why Sen Schumer (Dem-NY) is celebrating the defeat of the Obamacare repeal.

A Massive Healthcare Fraud Ring In Brooklyn
by Russian constituents of Sen Charles Schumer

By Julia Ioffe, NY Magazine, published March 2, 2012

In March 2012, thirty-six Russians---Soviet immigrants----were arrested in Brooklyn, New York for plotting to bilk US health-insurance companies out of a quarter of a billion tax dollars.

The plot, according to the NY Times, involved ten doctors, nine clinics, and a hundred and five corporations: “The ring falsified official US govt documennts demanding tax dollars----reimbursements for a mountain of excessive and unnecessary medical treatments that were never done.

The Russian fraudsters were so brazen that they already had in-place three separate billing-processing companies just to handle the paperwork.....to get the tax dollars into their greedy hands faster.

==============================================

STORY SOURCE: MEDICAID FRAUD IN BRIGHTON BEACH, BROOKLYN

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/01/nyregion/dozens-said-to-be-arrested-in-health-care-fraud-scheme.html

=====================================================

NOTES---What’s remarkable here is just how unremarkable the story is, coming, as it does, out of Sen Schumer's district-----the Russian-centric Brighton Beach, Brooklyn.

Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, is famous for its Russian delicacies, entertainment, a population of highly-inflected Russian dialects, but mostly for its concentration of insurance fraud.

The NY Times reports, “Brighton Beach has one of the highest rates of health care fraud in the nation, according to federal statistics.

An analysis from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (agency regulates the two programs), shows that more health care providers in the Brighton Beach ZIP code.....Sen Schumer's district..... are currently barred from then-current healthcare programs for malfeasance than in almost any other ZIP code in the United States.

Thanks to Sen Schumer, Obamacare is theirs for the taking.

ACA architect, MIT economics prof Jonathan Gruber, argued that perceived rising premium costs are really a one-time increase in 2016 to cover “massively underpriced” policies for the first two years of the 2010 law. He also said the increase “fixed” the problem because insurance companies were seeking signs of profitability and talking optimistically about continued participation in the program.

I guess Obama didn't let Gruber in on the "billion dollar secret." Probably Obama was depending on Gruber's stupidity (smirk).

Obama Siphoned off Billions in GSE Dividends To Prop Up OBAMACARE

ZeroHedge ^ | April 2, 2017 / FR Posted on by Zakeet

Earlier this month, Harvard Ph.D. Jerome Corsi of InfoWars (@jerome_corsi) and a CPA "who worked for two years for a major U.S. accounting firm as an outside auditor for Freddie Mac," confirmed a 2012 scheme hatched by the Obama administration.

The audacious looting involved funnelling hundreds of billions in dividends from Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSE) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to prop up the failing Obamacare program - by paying subsidies to insurers to remain in the system. [Snip]

The conclusion reached by Corsi and others is that this was probably illegal. In fact, House Republicans actually sued the Obama Administration in 2014 over the fact that the subsidies to insurers weren't appropriated by congress and won, which the Obama administration appealed.

Zerohedge and the Atlanta Journal Constitution pointed out last week, the Trump administration has until May 22nd to decide whether or not to pursue the appeal: (Excerpt) Read more at zerohedge.com ...

O/Care passed by an historic Democrat party-line vote w/ a massive, multi-billion-dollar slush fund that was deliberately kept hidden from us "stupid taxpayers" by self-serving Grubercrats.

=========================================

The Untraceable $8 Billion ObamaCare PR Budget---truly govt fraud at its finest. Egged on by Pelosi, Democrats slavishly voted for Obamacare by an historic straignt-party line vote.

Not one Democrat told Americans about Obamacare's Section 4002---which mandates an $8B untraceable fund to "promote" Obamacare (apparently b/c Boobamba had so little confidence in his signature legislation).

THE PAYOFF--WHO GOT THE MONEY? In 2010 Taxpayers are extorted $500 million, in 2011, $750 million, 2012, $1 billion, 2013, $1.25 billion, 2014, $1.5 billion, and, in 2015 and on, $2 billion

<><> Where is all that money going?

<><> Was cashing-in the incentive in getting the thing passed?

The sound of West Wing wire-transfers to state Democratic organizations and to offshore banks is almost palpable.

============================================

Turns out Obamacare is a vehicle for consolidating Dummycrat power.....complete w/ a multi-billion dollar slush fund financed by your tax dollar.

ITEM---A local couple called 10News concerned after they received an envelope from Obamacare website, Covered California. Inside was a letter discussing voter registration and a registration card pre-marked with an "x" in the box next to Democratic Party.

ITEM---Obamacare web site is also a voter registration site.

” Part of the reason for having a job is to participate in affordable insurance. “

You’ve never run a business, have you?

The purpose of a business is not to ensure you let employees “keep and gain more benefits”. It’s to make a profit. When employees compensation and benefits cost more than the value they create the jobs disappear (in the private sector).

Employees in the private sector (where all money to support everything government does originates) employees must be more productive to “keep and gain more benefits”.

Congress should live under the legislation they mandate the private sector, self-employed people, and others so they can fully appreciate their F*ck-ups.

This includes Obamacare.

They have no self-interest in fixing the problem, so they won’t do it, because they are Congressmen.

Trump, I hope, will align their interests with those of the American people on this issue. Then, and only then, will the problem be solved.

Sounds like shorthand for canceling the congressional exemption. If he does it he is firing a shot across the bow the Senate. They will consider it an act of war. I don’t see what choice he has they, have been trying to destroy him since he won. I think if they actually go into recess l will be buying some popcorn cause he might flood the zone with recess appointments.

Oh, I am sure those Congress creature have the super-platinum Obamacare plan with very small deductibles and super-fast care, private hospital rooms and the very best physical facilities.

We are paying for it, of course.

We are talking about government and not private business - we are talking about the federal government - and part of the benefit package of the USG is health care insurance, and that healthcare insurance is an important calculation in taking a position (anywhere for that matter). The reason I remained in the US Army for 20-years was because it would have been impossible to leave the Army and replace the healthcare in my situation(s) - plus I loved the work of being a paratrooper. I am not worried about business or running a business as this threat was simply about taking Health Care from Congress critters which I explained is not going to happen (maybe for their staffers/interns though maybe). I am simply in the “Lane” for congress and not passing down that private business consideration roadway although I do agree with most of what you said, just that it did not apply to the Thread as posted.

Congress & their staffers ARE different, due to the Obama administration giving them an exemption. Several other links on this thread, in addition to mine, explain how it works.

You are correct and I remember when this happened. When they passed the Bill they (Congress) was unaware of this issue and many of their staffers threatened to quit. So Obama wrote an exemption.

I would have ended that on day one. Day one. I would have even made a speech about our “Lords and Ladies” living above the law and how that will be changing, immediately.

Not sure of what these Bailouts for Congress members are.

It means the end of the DC Swamp rats/career politicians exempting themselves from what they have FORCED us on to and to pay for...for those who can't afford 'affordable' socialized medicine.
