Sorry. Senators can be neither recalled nor impeached. We’re stuck with lemons until the next election.

There might be a secret brilliance in letting Obamacare fail. The Dems will own it forever.

Trump signed an EO so the IRS does not enforce paying a fine if you are uninsured.

We need to address where the money in the entitlement programs actually goes, like food stamps and Medicaid. Because Susan Collins mentioned the food stamps program in an odd remark during the health debate, and somehow linked it with health reform. Betting Medicaid and food stamps are slush funds used in a way that is harder to trace than through standard health care fraud (where Sessions has had some huge arrests). Let’s find out how politicians are using that money and let’s get rid of anyone who has had more than two terms in Congress.

Right.

What the executive branch can do is punish their states, AZ, AK and ME.

Are there defense contracts due for renewal?
Are there ships scheduled to be constructed?
Are there military bases that can have missions transferred to other bases without harming defense?
Are there public works contracts or other government largesse that can be eliminated?

Make those states suffer economically and let them know in no uncertain terms that there will be no relief until those particular Senators are gone.

Another idea is that since Congress has an exemption for itself and its staffs from Obamacare, why couldn’t Trump have that exemption rescinded and make them live by the same provisions as anyone else in the individual market?

I believe McKeating is being recalled quite soon.

That would be an approach.

So Trump puts out an EO stating such.

Make Congress overrule the EO, which they likely would.

But do you do that now, or wait until the big budget battle in September?

Maybe have Trump give Congress the choice of either shutting down the government or they have to live under the health insurance system everyone else has to suffer under. THAT would be a great way to put them on the spot.

Unfortunately, the House would suffer most under this, not the Senate. And it was the House that did pass something.

So the best way at retaliation would be something that rewards those that voted for repeal but punishes those that voted against. What specifically is that? Got no clue. But Trump and his team is crafty!

Remember Trump is the master of “Art of the Deal.”

The best approach might be to let Obamacare totally crash and burn. Just think how bad it will be in 2018 right before the election? Think of how much negotiating leverage Trump will have in a year?

Those three loser Senators know their political careers are effectively over. McCain’s headed for his “reward” and the two hags likely already have their K Street $500K/year lobbyist positions lined up. This vote just locked in their golden parachute.

McCain doesn’t think that far ahead. He’s just a bitter, hateful, self-centered little man with delusions of adequacy.

Congressional Research Service CR 30016: Recall of Legislators and the Removal of Member of Congress from Office has the summary details.

It's a pretty easy read. Generally, beware the CRS pieces have been known to misrepresent the case law the report cites. I ran into this on Presidential eligibility. I have no reason to think the gist of the eligibility and recall summary is wrong, but if it mattered to me, I would review every citation the report makes. The Term Limits case, 514 US 779 (1995) is enough to convince you that recall of an elected federal official isn't in the cards. Congress can expel a member, but the public can't cut the elected term short.

Well action Trump could take today is rescind the rule Obama had the administration put in place, having the American Taxpayer pay Obmacare premiums for all Congressional staffs, they coukd not afford the increased premiums so they wanted to be exempt.
Obama gave them that nice little perk, come on Donald ,if the peons are stuck with this crap then let the our esteemed Representatives have to listen to the griping of their staffs when teey are on the hoook for paying thousands more for their premiums, especially Mccains staff.
TRUMP CAN DO THAT RIGHT THIS SECOND IF HE WANTED TO

This is NOT a fail by the GOP or by McConnell.

This was all Kabuki theater, designed to fool all of us once again.

Moreso, it was engineered to thoroughly embarass President Trump.

The House did it to him once with healthcare; now the Senate has done it as well.

If it was not McCain/Collins/Murkowski, it would have been three others, or three others.

We should have started a new political party after the elections of 2012, when Romney betrayed us and we got 4 more years of Obama.

Five years have gone by.

Stay within the system, they said. Give us the Senate.

We did, and for 2 years, the tag team of McConnell/Ryan did NOTHING and gave Obama everything he wanted.

Give us the White House.

We did, but we did not give them the RINO squish of Jeb Bush they had scripted to throw the election to their god and holder of their balls, Hillary Clinton.

We sent a strong message with Trump.

The GOP just sent us and Trump a message back—F YOU!

McCain, the perennial Manchurian Candidate, screwed the USA once more. All the while, basking in the contrived worship of him as a military hero.

These people have no shame and no care for we, the people.

We have wasted 25 years on the GOP. Lott,Frist,McConnell, Hastert, Boehner,Ryan. Weak, spineless, gutless and lying thieves and stealth Democrats all.

All hail the Deep State and the Uniparty.

Enough.

It is us and Trump against all of DC.

Time for us to resist—big league.

-- Well, if anything will cause a rift between the EU (and esp Germany) and the US it is this bill. Congress's own bill. --

France expressed anger about it too. The news is still spinning that Trump is too soft on Russia, and that is the issue. Congress is getting a pass from the US press. Not from the European press though. focuses on Trump's threat to veto, and that he is "undre pressure" to sign

Given the congressional investigations into possible collusion between his campaign and the Kremlin, and considering that the Republican Party has majorities in the House and the Senate, he is under considerable pressure not to veto the sanctions.

The usual dishonesty from the press. Misses the outrage from German, France, and many other countries. The Congressional sanctions are called illegal under international law, and will end up in international court if passed.

Congress, creating the international friction that Trump refuses to instigate.

These three Senators should be stripped of their committee positions.

Starting with the Murky Beetch from AK...the Senate Chair of the Energy Committee.

Yes, yes and yes. But here’s the thing. #1 Would Alaska or Maine do so with either Murkowski or Collins? Doubtful. Murkowski cheated her way into office during her last election and would doubtful find another way to do yet again. McConnell, egads, the folks in Kentucky just keep looking the other way when it comes to electing him. I have no idea why. Collins, hey, it’s Maine, nuff said on that front.

Congress controls the budget. Senate Majority Leader can strip McCain of Armed Services Committee chairmanship for not being a team player. Making someone pay at all is an unbelievable deterrent. Arizona is relatively small and has two fake GOP senators. Some real pain is in order.

Now that is a great idea!

Strip those three not just of any chairmanships, but all committee assignments.

Then punish their states until they force them to resign.

Go one better - cancel the insurance policy for congressmembers -every egg-sucking one of them.

We don’t get affordable insurance reform, neither do they. Let them go out of pocket like the rest of us.

And if they don’t cancel the insurance policy, file an ethics complaint against every single one of them for discrimination and unequal treatment under the law

“There is no “recall” for Senators.”

Make it symbolic. If citizens of the state want to recall McCain they should and whoever in government agrees with McCain should also be recalled.

That’s how you drain the swamp.

In 2016, 29 Senators ran for reelection. 0 were defeated in primaries. 2 were defeated in the general election. 27 were reelected for an incumbent reelection rate of 93%.
