I have been waiting for some brave psychiatrists to surface and say, unequivocally, that ‘trangenderism’ is a personality disorder.

It wasn't that long ago that homosexuality of every form was listed as a mental disorder in the psychiatric literature.

That designation was only removed because of political pressure from the left. As with everything else the left advocates, science, common sense, and hard won human experience were of secondary importance in making that decision.

I fully agree with the President on this regarding most front-line military positions. The bathroom/other issues that are unique to transgenders are distracting (like a soldier being pregnant) to Units’ readiness and op tempo. I do think there can be roles which transgenders can fill in the military and that these should be considered as they are human beings with various talents/weaknesses just like the rest of us. I am saddened to see such much bigotry/hatred towards gays/lesbians/transgenders. They are like the Pharisees and anti-Christs in the New Testament who despised the publicans, Samaritans, people with leprosy, and others who were humble. Such people, even the ones who do so ignorantly, make me sad. In closing we should never make any special accommodations for any military roles’ necessary requirements as the only responsibility of the military is to always be as reasonably ready to win battles/wars. The best thing our military can do for Transgenders is fulfill this responsibility because its the best hope of protecting the rights/freedoms of Transgenders and everyone. If we lose battles/wars then the Transgenders may lose everything.

Gays and Lesbians yes...

Gays and lesbians, NO! When I was in the army, they were discharged out of the service and that's the way it should be, for many reasons.

So refreshing to see our country’s strength returning little by little.
It’s like a dying man returning to health and youth again!
I love this man, he has all the qualities we need in a leader for sanity and rightfulness and “Make America Great Again”.

Military leaders gave reasons to POTUS. He listened and made a decision not driven by the threat of criticism. Isn’t that what REAL leaders are supposed to do?

It is: there will be freaks in the showers, but you cannot look or say anything.

This is good, the government cannot pay for every crazy to have things added and whacked off. Trannies seem to be off balance as a rule.

Using courts and government to force others to kneel before the alter of their depravity, destroying livelihoods, closing businesses, warping young minds through government run educational institutions, among other actions might have something to do with it. If they want to know the impetus for the animosity of others towards them they should look in a mirror.

Every day Trump illustrates what’s wrong with Washington.

He is the proverbial new sheriff in town who intends to clean up the place. The corrupt scoundrels in Washington hate him for it.

Big difference between off duty preferences and forcing women to share showers with dudes and spending military money on treatment/surgery.

Great article in the WSJ by Dr. Paul McHugh, Johns Hopkins head psychiatrist. I can’t get to the article without signing in, but here is a link that summarizes what he said in the op-ed:

Former Johns Hopkins head psychiatrist: ‘transgender surgery isn’t the solution’
https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/former-johns-hopkins-head-psychiatrist-transgender-surgery-isnt-the-solutio

From link:

In a June 12 Wall Street Journal op-ed, Dr. Paul McHugh wrote that “policy makers and the media are doing no favors either to the public or the transgendered” by not treating transgender “confusions ... as a mental disorder that deserves understanding, treatment and prevention.”

According to McHugh, the “sense of being transgendered constitutes a mental disorder in two respects.” The first, he says, is that “it does not correspond with physical reality.” The second, more importantly, is that not treating transgender disorder properly “can lead to grim psychological outcomes.”

In his op-ed, McHugh cited a 2011 study that followed “324 sex-reassigned persons” from 1973 to 2003 in Sweden. According to the study’s abstract, it found that “persons with transsexualism, after sex reassignment, have considerably higher risks for mortality, suicidal behaviour, and psychiatric morbidity than the general population.”

“Our findings suggest that sex reassignment, although alleviating gender dysphoria, may not suffice as treatment for transsexualism, and should inspire improved psychiatric and somatic care after sex reassignment for this patient group,” the authors wrote.

The study, McHugh wrote in his op-ed, found that “beginning about 10 years after having the surgery, the transgendered began to experience increasing mental difficulties. Most shockingly, their suicide mortality rose almost 20-fold above the comparable nontransgender population.”

McHugh says that Johns Hopkins “launched a study in the 1970s comparing the outcomes of transgendered people who had the surgery with the outcomes of those who did not.”

“Most of the surgically treated patients described themselves as ‘satisfied’ by the results, but their subsequent psycho-social adjustments were no better than those who didn’t have the surgery,” he explained.

Thus, says McHugh, “we stopped doing sex-reassignment surgery, since producing a ‘satisfied’ but still troubled patient seemed an inadequate reason for surgically amputating normal organs.”

McHugh, who is also known as a prominent Catholic who served on President George W. Bush’s Presidential Council on Bioethics, has written about the Johns Hopkins study before. In a 2004 piece for First Things, he concluded that medical and psychological professionals “have wasted scientific and technical resources and damaged our professional credibility by collaborating with madness rather than trying to study, cure, and ultimately prevent it.”

Other mental health experts have questioned the effectiveness of sex-change operations. Keith Ablow told LifeSiteNews earlier this month that a viral video about a seven-year old child attempting to become male was more harmful than most media sources reported. “I believe that it is possible that developing secondary sexual characteristics that match one’s DNA may actually be part of someone becoming more comfortable with his or her God-given gender,” he said.

According to Ablow, “the aggression shown by the LGBT community toward people who question whether children should prepare to have their genitals surgically altered and be injected with massive doses of hormones is such that clinicians are terrified to continue searching for the truth.”

In his Wall Street Journal piece, McHugh says that “misguided doctors at medical centers including Boston’s Children’s Hospital have begun trying to treat” transgenderism in youths “even though the drugs stunt the children’s growth and risk causing sterility.” He says that, given the chance, “close to 80% of such children would abandon their confusion and grow naturally into adult life if untreated,” and recommends “a better way to help these children: with devoted parenting.”

Naps, I agree with all you said, but you really ought to use quotation marks or italics when pasting another’s remarks into a new post.

It’s common courtesy, and also helps the reader to differentiate between your comments and other’s.

I know every generation has those times when the things they seem from the generations following them seem completely insane and bad.

But I feel like there have been wholesale lots of things coming down the pike that seem absolutely bizarre and insane, and the military’s attitude towards homosexuality, transgenderism, and simply women in the military/combat roles seems...not just insane, but suicidal.

As you accurately said: “The inmates have taken over the asylum.”

“there have always been, they just have been under the radar”

nothing wrong with that particularly. and no doubt, lots of soldiers have quirks of various stripes that are under the radar.

what we don’t want are tiny groups of disruptive people who flaunt their special quirks accompanied by great demands for special treatment, such as special barracks, special bathrooms, special latrines, special clothing, special medical “treatment”, and special surgery.

the military already has numerous physical and mental requirements for fitness to server; this is just one more added to the list.

When I think back to the 1990’s, their fight was to allow homosexuals into the military. They won that fight, and proceeded to move the goalpost to include mentally ill people suffering from gender identity.

It makes me wonder at what point they will stop? Beastiality? Pedophilia?

Ugh.
