President Trump and his advisers are privately discussing the possibility of replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and some confidants are floating prospects who could take his place were he to resign or be fired, according to people familiar with the talks. Members of Trump’s circle, including White House officials, have increasingly raised the question among themselves in recent days as the president has continued to vent his frustration with the attorney general, the people said.

I find this very disturbing. Sessions stuck his neck out early to support Trump during the primary season. Trump is a popularizer of many ideas Sessions has been advocating for his entire tenure in the Senate. One of Trump's principal advisors Stephen Miller came from Sessions. Sessions left a safe Senate seat to become AG. Now Trump wants him out????

He recused himself on the biggest issue so far (Russia) and has done nothing on HRC/BO. I like Sessions too but he hasn’t done a great job for the Trump admin as AG (yet at least). That said, this is WaPo, so possibly fake news.

I suspect that Trump and Sessions are playing with the media.

I have real problems with the concept Sessions is not up to snuff. There needs to be an FBI director in place before Sessions can do his work prosecuting the swamp.

As I understand news reports, a new Director should be on board soon.

Session is a disaster.

He ran to a Doj Ethics committee stacked with Obama bot lawyers looking for a excuse to avoid the Phony Russia scam so he could still be a part of the DC insider crowd.

He then appoints Rosenstein , a DC swamp monster and Obama lawyer as his second in charge .

He made huge mistakes and has not done anything to clean up the Mueller mess he created as well as the Clinton pay / play scandal .

Why are you defending this guy? Never Trumper whine alert .

I have long been a fan of Sessions and he has done a lot about gangs with no backup at FBI. But one thing I believe is whether this conflict with Trump is real or staged theater, Trump’s comment about Hillary must have her in knots.

I’ve been saying since last week that this has all the appearances of a staged WWE event. LOL.

I got a feeling Trump is occupying the media with disinformation.

Something is going on. Something big.

-- That said, this is WaPo, so possibly fake news. --

The tweets are real, but the guy who is about to have the rug pulled out from him is McCabe, acting head of FBI.

Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump campaign - "quietly working to boost Clinton." So where is the investigation A.G. @seanhannity
@realDonaldTrump - 6:03 AM - 25 Jul 2017

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails & DNC server) & Intel leakers!
@realDonaldTrump - 6:12 AM - 25 Jul 2017

Problem is that the acting head of the FBI & the person in charge of the Hillary investigation, Andrew McCabe, got $700,000 from H for wife!

I think that line of thinking on Fr...and you aren’t the only one that thinks it.is hogwash

This man had a cushy...respected job in the Senate. He gave it up. You think he wants his reputation trashed like this over and over again in public??.

I dont like Erik Erickson but he has a point. If trump will do this to session he will do it to any of the rest of them next

Sessions should have recused himself. He doesnt deserve to be hung for it

One of the potential impeachment issues is obstruction of Justice. By hinting to Comey Trump supposedly obstructed justice. Trump is now constantly doing more than simple hinting about the direction sessions is taking and he is threatening his job constantly. He is effectively desensitize the ness media and the public and educacting the power the president has over appointment and pardons. In shirt these recent tweets help defend Trump on the political impeachment issue.

Sessions didn’t appoint Rosenstein as his second in charge, Trump nominated him and the Senate approved him as DAG.

Not according to radio host Laura Ingram .

Sessions reviewed options and signed off on him before he was nominated .

If Trump wanted to fire Sessions, he'd fire Sessions. (One thing we can be sure of is that Trump knows how to fire people!)

Sessions has his purpose. In the professional wrestling script, Sessions is the honest ref who is always looking the wrong way when the bad guys cheat.

(But take heart! Eventually the bad guys lose!)

Maybe. I view it the opposite. Trump is trying to bully sessions into quitting.If he fires him in order to get mueller fired it would give more grounds for obstruction

BUt bullying him could lead to same

There is no way I will believe that sessions wants to be trashed like this over and over again
