Will Congress's Russian sanctions bill increase gasoline and energy prices in the US?

Just wondering. Our oil companies are against the bill.

Also, why is the Republican Congress not able to pass any of the Trump agenda - health reform, tax cuts, infrastructure, and the Wall -- but they have time to punish non-communist Russia?

Harry Truman talked about the "good for nothing do-nothing Republican Congress" in 1948. Actually, that was a good Congress. The current one is terrible.

That would be a great tweet for Trump to blast out.

He also should announce that he’s not going to sign that bill.

I think it would affect Big Four Oil participation in oil exploration in the North Sea. Gasprom and that other Russian oil company who’s name escapes me, partner with Shell, Exxon, etc. on projects. Without US participation, it seems like the act would give the entire North Sea (and the Artic) “first-in” rights to Russia. Considering the buddies that Russia can tap for partnering (NoK, Iran, Syria, China, etc), that puts undesirables in our hemisphere, doesn’t seem like a good idea in the long run.

No. It won’t. But that doesn’t mean it is sensible. It is purely a way to hamstring Mr.. Trump and to establish as a false fact that The Russians did, indeed, effectively intervene in the US Election. The Republicans in Congress are trying to establish contrary to fact that Putin did elect Trump. The Republicans are doing their part to co-operate with Mueller and the Democrats to oust a President.

doesn’t seem like a good idea in the long run.

Which is one of the reasons the Republicans ++++++++are avid for it.
