De Blasio Compared to ‘Cowardly Lion’ After Fleeing Confrontation With Angry Queens Woman

A CBS New York reporter compared Mayor Bill de Blasio to the "cowardly lion" from The Wizard of Oz after he fled a confrontation on Thursday with an angry 63-year-old Queens woman.

Vickie Paladino and her husband were driving through their neighborhood when they spotted the far-left mayor, who was there to announce a $16 million initiative to fix sidewalks damaged by tree roots. Paladino was so upset over de Blasio's trip to Germany to speak at a G-20 protest in lieu of attending a vigil for slain New York police officer Miosotis Familia that she left the car to berate him.

As de Blasio approached her and a group of others to shake hands, she started to ask about his trip. He turned around with his security detail and went to his car.

"I want to know why you let your police officers down and our country down by going to Germany and protesting against our country," she yelled at de Blasio. "I want to know why you're doing that. OK? I don't care about the trees. We'll work it out."

CBS reporter Marcia Kramer said de Blasio "simply fled" when Paladino started her criticism.

"Bill de Blasio was no Hulk Hogan or The Rock," Kramer said. "He was more like the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard Of Oz."

Paladino caught the attention of the media assembled for the event, and she told reporters that she'd "had it" with de Blasio and doubted he had a friend in the city.

"This is got to do with a liberal, socialist mayor who is running our city and has no regard for our country," she said.

"Why did you go to Germany? Why did you stand with the communists, with the anarchists, with the socialists when you’re supposed to be here, taking care of our business, our police officers," she said in a later interview with Kramer.

De Blasio is up for re-election in 2017.

Ha! de Blasio is a pansy @$$ed communist! When confronted by a 64 year old woman asking the hard questions, unlike the MSM, he turns tail and runs! I wonder if Vickie Paladino is any relation to Carl Paladino who ran for Governor of NY in 2010. He's a pretty fiery guy as well.

I hope the mayor didn’t trip over his pants and fall and hurt someone. He was most certainly caught with his down.

But this is the type of action that needs to be taken. And it needs to come from more than just the citizens that know about it. It needs to come from the elected officials we send up there every time it happens. Turn fake news into stake news and nail them every time they do something stupid. And nail the media for not reporting it. Liars need to be identified so they won’t be believed when they call themselves public servants. And the media needs to be identified as liars when they purposely protect a politician from scorn while hiding behind the first amendment.

Wow. Maybe this woman is a deplorable visiting from the heartland? I cannot imagine anybody in NYC actually thinks like that.

Kudos to her for making those remarks to the communist mayor!

In no way is he a lion.

He’s just a typical New York City RAT, a big one but still just a RAT.

This woman is really sick of Bill de Blasio

By Rich Calder and Laura Italiano July 20, 2017
http://nypost.com/2017/07/20/this-woman-is-really-sick-of-bill-de-blasio/

Mayor Bill de Blasio has stood his ground against political opponents, dogged reporters and even President Trump, but on Thursday, a furious 63-year-old Queens woman sent him scurrying for cover.

“You let your police officers down!” Hizzoner’s perhaps fiercest, most fearless foe — a silver-haired firebrand named Vickie Paladino — shouted, jumping out of her car to berate him after noticing him giving a press conference in her Whitestone neighborhood.

“And your country down!” Paladino railed, with so much force that the mayor ran away from her and took refuge in his chauffeured car.

It was the fourth day of the mayor’s “City Hall in Your Borough” swing through Queens, and he’d just finished telling reporters about $16 million in new funding to fix city sidewalks damaged by tree roots.

The mayor began walking toward her.

Then — maybe realizing he was about to walk into a PR buzzsaw — he spun on his heel and hurried back to the safety of his car.

Paladino later told The Post that de Blasio got close enough that she could hear him tell his security guys, “Get me away from her!”

No matter for Paladino, who kept shouting after the fleeing mayor, condemning him for flying to Germany to protest the G20 summit earlier this month — a trip taken just one day after a city cop was assassinated in the street.

“I want to know why you are doing that!” shouted Paladino

Paladino kept shouting even after the mayor pulled away. She said she’s so angry with the mayor that she and her husband have decided to sell their home and leave the city.

“I’ve had it with de Blasio!” she regaled lingering reporters.

“I’ve had it with the way he’s running this city. Everybody’s had it with de Blasio. I don’t think he has a friend in the city.”

She taunted, “He ran away! It’s time he starts to pay attention … this is a big show. This means nothing. He could have sent anyone here to talk to us about trees.

“De Blasio, be a mayor,” she shouted.

“Don’t talk to me about trees. Talk to me about protection of our city. Of our citizens. And what you’re going to do for our police officers. Because you left them high and dry, on more than one occasion. Can’t wait for Election Day. Buddy, you are OUT!”

Friday is the fifth and final day of de Blasio’s weeklong swing through Queens

Yep. The NYC should run that lady - Vickie Paladino - for mayor. (Her Italian last name wouldn’t hurt!)

He’s a real POS. There has to be another crown heights riots to get rid of ‘Wilhelm’. The socialists in NYC love his Marxist @$$.

She is articulate, dynamic and passionate. Give this lady a show on Fox! If Megan still wants to save her sinking career over on MSNBC, she ought to interview this woman, professionally, not with silly ‘Gotcha!’ questions.
“Never mind the trees!”.

Yeah, she looks like a real Amazon.

De Blowhard could have stood quietly and let her rant, said “thank you for your views”, returned to his limo, and the matter would be over.

Bad imaging, very bad imaging for Hizzoner.

Cowardly Lion entered the Wicked Witch’s castle with his comrades. That took real courage since he was really scared.

Not a fit comparison with De Blowhard.

Her analogy is perfect. The Wizard of Oz lion liked to bark and growl as long as bystanders would cower. But when challenged, even by a little girl, the lion started crying and whining.

That's a perfect analogy for liberal politicians.
