USPS broke law in allowing workers to boost Clinton campaign, watchdog says

The United States Postal Service violated federal law by letting employees do union-funded work for Hillary Clinton's campaign and other Democratic candidates while on leave from the agency, according to an Office of Special Counsel report obtained by Fox News.

The OSC determined the USPS "engaged in systemic violations" of the Hatch Act, a federal law that limits certain political activities of federal employees. While employees are allowed to do some political work on leave, the report said the Postal Service showed a "bias" favoring the union's 2016 campaign operation.

The investigation was launched months ago after Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wis., brought constituent complaints to the OSC in October. The constituent, identified as a USPS employee, was concerned the Postal Service “incurred unnecessary overtime costs” and “improperly coordinated” with the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) when it released members for several weeks of “union official” leave without pay to participate in campaign work.

“The Labor 2016 program sought to ‘elect Hillary Clinton and pro-worker candidates across the country,’” the report said, citing campaign work like door-to-door canvassing, phone banks and other get-out-the-vote efforts...

Fine them $100 million and put them on probation for the next 3 elections. A wrist slap will do nothing.

I bet nothing will happen to anyone at USPS. And what am I going to do, boycott the mail?

Politics supersedes laws, so no more actions will be taken.

Normally this would be a bad thing.

But since it was for Queen Hillary well, it’s okay.

Excellent point. Someone in authority made the decision to allow this, and they should be fired - and very publicly too.
The USPS is like the teachers ... at one time they made very little money, but had a decent retirement. Now they have great salaries, great benefits and a great retirement. Plus, no one ever gets fired.
And as you noted - what the hell can you do about either one?

Most people are already. The USPS has responded by increasing the flood of junk mail. It makes their ‘environmentally conscious’ PR an unfunny joke when they could fill a canyon with unwanted coated paper every day.

EVERY Obama executive branch agency was on-call to assist rat candidates and Hillary. From the IRS, NSA, OSHA, FBI, DOJ, and even to the mailman, our rulers are little different from a family of mobsters.

Where’s congress and Sessions’ DOJ? Crickets.

So what. I have no faith in our system anymore to think something will actually be done about it. Just another sub committee hearing or investigation, to add to all the other hearings going on right now, that will lead to no where. Now if I were to break the law then there is a penalty to pay. Not these people.

Our very liberal paper which espouses environmental crap like globull climate change for some reason gets away with throwing plastic wrapped paper in my driveway which gores straight to the garbage can and then to the landfill. Go figure.

The IRS broke laws.

The Post Office broke laws.

Two Attorneys General broke laws.

The FBI Director broke laws

I.C.E. broke laws.

The ATF broke laws.

Two Secretaries of State broke laws.

The National Security Advisor broke laws.

The President of the USA broke laws too many times to count.

The DNC broke laws.

The democrat candidate in 2016 broke laws.

BUT NOT ONE PERSON HAS BEEN SENT TO PRISON OR HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIER CRIMINAL ACTS

Fine the union. If you fine the Post Office it’s the taxpayers who pay. Fine the union, put the union boss in jail
