Lets not blame the rich for this one...
Unions have driven the cost of cars up more than anything else.
Retirement plans for many in the industry are the envy of even congress itself.
Don't leave out Government Regulations which have added more to the cost of a new car than anything else. With every new regulation comes increased cost.
Just wait until autonomous vehicles become required.
Although Unions are a factor, excessive federal regulations have a far greater impact on base cost....
“Unions have driven the cost of cars up more than anything else.”
You forget ...
Govt dictates in every way have driven up the cost of new cars. Emission, multiple air bags, back up cameras, mileage requirements, and on and on.
Don't be daft.
It was the GD greedy wealthy insiders who concocted free trade bull sh*t, which all but looted the American economy while those SOBs got even richer.
I disagree. Unions have driven up costs but they do not hold a candle to the government imposed cost through safety, fuel efficiency and other regulations.
Really??? Then why do non union made Toyotas cost the same as comparable Chevrolets...And Hyundis...Many of their parts are made in North Korea...Guess you'd rather have one of those, eh???
The average new car is purchased by someone in their 50s. That’s been true for a long time. And while car prices have risen you don’t have to spend anywhere near 33k to buy a nice new car.
