Totally agree. I was not a Cruz supporter, but I have seen several interviews with him since the election and he definitely seems to have his head on straight when it comes to what I actually going on, and more importantly, what should be done. I would have liked him on the SCOTUS, would welcome him as AG.
I also like Sessions. He is a great patriot. He has fought the illegal immigration battle for a long time. But I don’t understand why he is not indicting Hillary and others to take the pressure off Trump.
If Ted leaves the Senate, I want him on the court.
Would prefer cRuz stay in the Senate...for votes and to maybe replace McTurtle, as Majority LEADER.

It's perplexing to me too, and I can see only 3 possible reasons: He's either afraid, he's being blackmailed, or he was deep state to begin with. There's that 4th "3-D chess thing, but I'm not buying it. How could Trump NOT be furious with Sessions for his betrayal?
Regardless, he needs to be replaced. The problem will be Senate confirmation of a new one.
I should mention that when I say the base, I don't mean people like us, who are a lot more tuned in to what is going on. I fear that if he gets rid of Sessions now, it will look like he is throwing another guy to the wolves like Flynn. Sessions seems to be doing a great job on illegal immigration. Yes, he should leave the potheads alone, losers that they are, but giving the illegals the boot as he is doing seems to be a very good thing.
I'd much rather he ruin Mueller's reputation and then sack him.
If he does get rid of him, hopefully I am wrong about how it will be received by the electorate.
I thought of another reason: All of Sessions’ DC Beltway friends are mad at him for helping Trump get elected, and Sessions is trying to make amends to them. I know. It’s a stretch.
If Sessions had any guts and honor, he would fire Rosenstein and Mueller and McCabe. HE created the Witch Hunt ; HE needs to fix it.
