You need to familiarize yourself with the type of lawyers who work for organizations such as Judicial Watch & True the Vote. There actually ARE “take no prisoners” type of attorneys, you know. Or maybe you really don’t know and deal solely with mediocrities.

“According to the state bureau, Noor’s partner, Officer Matthew Harrity, told investigators he was driving in the alley with all of the vehicle’s lights off when he was startled by a loud noise, which authorities did not describe. Harrity said Damond appeared at the driver’s side window “immediately afterward” and Noor fired, striking her in the abdomen. She died at the scene.”

Just like I figured, jumpy cop. Something went “Bang!” and suddenly someone appears at the open driver’s window.

Perhaps the ultimate case of bad timing.

I’m not a cop and the majority of time I TRY to lean in favor of the cop. That said, I’m glad to see I agree with a real cop. I have been shaking my head ever since this happened. How on earth can you just reach up and fire a round into a woman’s stomach?!!!

I AGREE on the grounds that there is no other logical explanation in this case.

I can only guess and my answer is panic. Perhaps this officer just had a briefing reminding him of how the female NYPD officer was killed, a shadowing shape rushing to the car, a simultaneous loud noise, already had his gun out because of the nature of the call, pointed and shot. A perfect and tragic brew.

One of the strangest shootings I have read about.

But malice of forethought, I don’t think so.

He may do some prison time and the department is going to pay out a princely sum and certainly some policy change and retraining.

I think your close to right although I believe there is a “strain” of male muslim anti woman, 1,000 year old DNA at work here too.

I have said on FR for years many times that all police agencies have to tighten up on standards. The Navy Seals are a good yardstick. Their training sorts out the individuals with FEAR in their DNA that will Panic and do something stupid and get “the team” killed.

Now, before some Freeper tells me cops can’t afford this type training and only 1 in a hundred could pass it I will say “your partly right”. But, at the present, police forces are headed the opposite direction, they will take just about anybody and nearly all end up passing and are given a gun and badge. People with FEAR in their bones that will shoot at the drop of a hat MUST be weeded out!

And THAT is the problem. They are reflexively hiring a lawyer who can do them no good.
